Our first time here we were on our way to a different fast food, and I had been thinking to myself. We had to get the proprietor of place. We were going to start making Montecristo sandwiches. We had just passed blue Mountain Café, and said we had to give it a try sometime we went on to our destination just up the street and they were closed. It must be fate! So we turned around and came back! They have daily lunch specials and a very extensive menu to satisfy everyone’s tastes! To the guy that said it was pretty pricey let me tell you yes it is BUT, yes always a But, the quality of the food and the amount of food you get is worth what you pay! There is NO SHRINKFLATION here! Darrell got the chicken fried steak it was huuuuge! He had mashed taters and pinto beans! I’m not a chicken fried steak person because I don’t like cubed steak. I don’t know if this was or not and Darrell couldn’t tell me either way. He said what he really like it was not all crust! He could not believe the flavor of the beans! I tasted them and they were as good if not better than my homemade beans! They were perfectly cooked! I could not believe they had a Monte Cristo Sandwich with raspberry preserves hence fate! There is a high dollar restaurant near by that has one and it is horrible! The one I had today was a burst of wonderful in my mouth cooked perfectly crispy outside and melty goodness on the inside! I’m not a French fry fan but these fresh cut fries were perfect!! Everything came out hot and delicious. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile our server Rachel was terrific! So friendly and attentive ! OMG THE DESERTS LOOKED TO DIE FOR! We will be back I can promise you that! We will...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place and come back for the comfort food; however, the staff made this first-time experience unenjoyable and frustrating.
We were seated without issue and brought drinks by the hostess, but it took longer than anticipated for our server to swing by our table. Their entire introduction and presentation was fumbled.
Their menu is overly complicated with too many options. It's all basically the same food with multiple names for essentially the same food. They absolutely need to simplify their menu and find a better way to give their customers options. I don't need the option for toast, hashbrowns, or a biscuit & gravy listed with every description. It gets too wordy and in the way. A simple one time menu would suffice.
Then, the individual who actually delivered our food (possibly the manager) came to the table with the most sour puss and unhappy face. They clearly didn't want to be there and made us feel like outsiders. As if we were being judged. Her RBF would be the stuff of legends and instantly made us uncomfortable and not welcomed. We did stay and quickly ate our food and left. Then we were told to pay up front. I like their cash policy and charging extra for cards, but to be asked a tip amount to leave without seeing my receipt is off-putting. I'd like to be able to review the information and complete it myself. Being put on the spot like that is shameful and provides a disservice to the staff. It's possible a larger tip would have been given if not 'placed on the spot'.
Overall, we will not be coming back. Not that it matters anyway as this place struggles to treat people with respect. They'll continue to service their...
Read moreWent to go eat here for the first time, my car was getting an alignment down the street. My daughter wanted pancakes so I thought taking her here for some brunch would be nice since I’ve seen it before. Big mistake Her plate was one egg hashbrowns sausage and pancakes nothing that she has not eaten before I had an old timer sandwich with hashbrowns. BOTH of our hashbrowns were LOADED with grease just from the first glance at it. My sandwich I could not even grab it and eat, they but butter on the bread made it soggy , I had to use a fork and a knife to just eat the egg and sausage separately with a couple of bites of hashbrowns. My daughter ate some of the hashbrowns and her egg , a bite of her sausage. Reason why i write this post , the very next day , which is today , thanksgiving day , she wakes up at 6 am throwing up , and guess what she has been throwing up? Hashbrowns! Grease or oil is not the answer to everything! I hated my food I still tipped and payed 40 dollars in total for my meal, if i ordered it I pay it but this food did not look appealing, appetizing , and it made my daughter sick. The table behind me left a plate full of fries and they looked REALLY soggy. I didn’t get to eat anything else but first and last experience here was very disappointing. Waitress was nice attentive, the ambiance of the place looked good , but food was really bad of course this is my opinion and my experience yours may...
