I’m a travel agent who happened to stop by on my family vacation with a party of 8. We were barely acknowledged after seating ourselves as the sign said. It took 15 mins for anyone to acknowledge us to even get drink orders and menus. I watched a party of five or six come in after us and get seated, drink orders and place their order before we got our drinks. Then I watched as every other person got checked on before ever coming back to take our order. We were there 35 mins with two acknowledgements. AND the drink orders were wrong after she wrote them down. I went up and told her to give me the bill for the drinks to pay because we were leaving. She stated then that she was coming right then. I said it was too late the kids were hungry and needed to eat and was told not to worry about paying for the drinks.
As we walked out the door the manager did chase me down and ask what happened. I explained and he offered for us to come back at half off. I said no - I don’t trust food places when you’re not happy. He offered a gift card and I told him I wouldn’t be back as we were out of town and just traveling through. At that point it was too late.
It was a party of eight on a Tuesday afternoon who would have tipped well but didn’t get the chance because no one wanted to actually wait on us. I can’t rate the food because I never got to try it.
It is a cute restaurant with a fun birthday promo. Just not staff that...
Read moreNothing exceptional but the high prices on beer and bland food. We ate at the original restaurant 20+ yrs ago and never went back, wife took me here today - never again. My main gripe is that the restaurant is insanely loud inside, like a public school cafe loud. Conversation at the table was nearly impossible. Owners need some "soft architecture " inside this big box to make it bearable when filled with people. Food was not bad, had rib/chicken combo and the meat portions were small, ribs were tender but bones were nearly emulsified and soft - couldn't eat off the bone as I first bit through bone and all. Baked beans were best part of the plate, jalapeño mac & cheese was bland with little more taste than cheese, coleslaw was good. Sandwiches looked good. Finally, for a place to have only one BBQ sauce to choose from, it had better be awesome - and this isn't. In summary, dinner was good, but not exceptional enough to pass the other 3 BBQ places on the drive there. Especially taking the poor atmosphere into account. And beer? $4.90 for Coors light draft is nuts, up to $7.90 for Sam Adams and $8.90 for Southern Tier. Sorry, I had sweet tea cause I refuse to pay...
Read moreNOT SAFE FOR FOOD ALLERGIES. I joined some friends for lunch on Saturday, 4/8/23, and informed the waitress upon taking my order that I have a severe milk allergy. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich (no bun) with fries, and asked the waitress to exclude any toppings that contained milk. My meal came out with potato skins, with cheese and ranch all over the plate and touching the pulled pork. I flagged down the waitress and let her know that it would make me sick and that I needed a new plate. She brought out the same plate with the potato skins removed and nothing else. I sent my plate back a second time, reiterating that consuming milk will make me sick and I needed an entirely new plate of food. I truly believe they scraped the pulled pork onto a separate plate, rather than making me new as I had a severe allergic reaction on my way home. . I'm thankful that my reaction was only to be covered in hives and have extreme GI distress over the weekend instead of my throat closing up. Both waitstaff and kitchen staff need to be re-educated on food allergies - I or anyone else with a severe allergy could have...
