I can tell you the FACTS about my dining experience at Langel's this afternoon. My waitress was very friendly. When our food came out, it was accompanied by our appetizers, and while I told the waitress to send the food out as soon as possible, I didn't realize ALL of our food would take 45-55 minutes. It also came out made INCORRECTLY. It was moderately busy in the restaurant at the time. I was dining with 3 children under 10 years old. When I began to address the problem with the food at the table, a short, gray haired manager leaned OVER the divider and began questioning me concerning my ordering skills. She also BEGAN our interaction by scolding me for not realizing I wasn't the ONLY table in the restaurant. Now remember, I didn't outwardly complain. I wasn't raising my hand or even looking around for our waitress. This woman chose to interrupt our INCORRECTLY MADE meal to offer her 2 cents. (A meal we waited quite a while for and in my opinion, could have been alleviated by sending the tomato bread out beforehand.....I mean, kids get restless waiting...)
I then stated to the woman, as she began to TRY to argue with me, (instead of offering a SOLUTION) that I was not there to argue. So, I simply stood up, and left with my guests.
Now, as for my actions, I did not argue back, I did not raise my voice, and I was most DEFINITELY not going to waste my time finishing an argument that this woman INITIATED in front of three children! I've learned it's better to be kind, than right all the time. And, although we all left disappointed, at least we didn't stoop to that "level.
How very "SAD and Indiana" of you, Langels. I hate to say this, but what was the real reason you were so rude?? To a mother, her children & their friend?? I smell an undertone of blatant racism.....shame ON YOU. We will NOT BE BACK. EVER.

That was absolutely NOT the case. The tone, inflection in her voice, and snidness of the manager on duty was very apparent. There was zero helpfulness/kindness being displayed by her. Thank you, but, NO thank...
Read moreMy niece called ahead to make sure they could accommodate a party of about 10-12 people the hostess said no problem and when we got there they was an issue (first red flag) then they sat is in the bar area and we had a toddler and several underage family members with us (2nd red flag) then it took the waitress about 20-30 minutes to just even take our drink order (3rd red flag) when we asked another waitress what Happ to our waitress she asked to identify we did she knew who we we're talking about and she finally came, took 10-15 minutes to get our drinks then disappear again, came took our order (appetizers and entree) three pizzas, 4 orders of wings, beef steak sandwich, fried pickles 🤬 let's just say the restaurant was not busy, the waitress blamed the cooks for thr delay then thr appetizers csme with the food and everything was luke warm. I was done, first time, was enough for me and my family and our bill was over $200 but I talked to the manager advised her of the situation and we were there from 7-1030!!! Food was not impressive, then she accidentally told us that the waitress did not put the order correctly and it was entered at different times that is why some food came first and some did not come at all. Do not recommend it and will never go back again. Oh yeah, waitress made sure to tell us she could not separate the bills in a big party to find out from manager that she could separate the bill but she was making sure she got her good tip in there and I accidentally gave her an extra $31 Dollars not realizing she was already charging a gratuity so she basically got about $60 from me in gratuity and tip🤬...
Read moreI was invited back to Langel's by my favorite bartender Jojo and had a pleasant time just watching sports and having a drink with my awesome bartender, just like old times. I really missed eating the Pot Roast Sandwich Langel's, it is your can't miss item on the menu. Thanks Jojo!!!
I have been to Langel's over 200+ times and have had above average service most of the time. For the exception of one night. My party and I were having a night out when a rude customer told me to "shut the f#$ up" while we were minding our own business. Her and I went back and forth until another person, who happened to be the night manger without informing me, told me and not the other woman to "get the f#$ out". Not once did this night manager reprimand the hostile customer who initiated the whole situation in the first place. She didn't have to tell me twice, so I left. I went back several times after this event and was told by another Manager on a particular day that I was unable to visit this establishment in the future. Come to find out the night manger and rude customer were buddies.
Due to this unfortunate event I have been more than happy to spend my hard earned money some where else in Highland, Indiana. And I feel this whole situation and lack of management professionalism from the beginning was racially motivated due to finding out the hostile customer and night manager were friends.
Word of mouth is the greatest advertisement for any type of service in business, which is why many of my family and friends have been informed of this...
