I'm not one to do reviews but this was definitely a review I needed to share...sure, I'm not a local now but 35 years ago I knew this island better than those now waiting on me, or serving me, or the bar manager who has no clue.. I was standing at the bar to get a drink, after 5 minutes I realized I was not getting anywhere so I asked the couple sitting at a 6 top if I can crash their table just to get a drink..yes I sat there got a drink, actually 2...it wasn't long after the couple left..apparently known in the community getting free drinks and a very cheap tab but none the less...the bar manager joe approached me and told me I had to leave the table because he can't have 1 person taking a table for 6 and told me I had to move to the 3 top...well you didn't have a problem when the 2 were sitting there as I stated (his comment I just sat there) no I asked if it was okay to sit there to get a drink because apparently I wasn't seen unless sitting and of course no seats at the bar and I am very respectful of seats...I am a bartender myself...I was only in for 2 drinks anyway and if he just waited until he needed it or I was gone anyway, this post would not exist..it's not just about the food, or the drinks, but the faces that greet us or take care of us or approach us for whatever reason such as joe kicking me off a table...no way will I ever support a place like this and sure it doesn't matter because 1 loss is nothing to such a business but it says enough about the lack of customer service that this industry lacks so much today and this place...first impressions...and I could be a season regular but no thanks...Joe could have asked me in a better manner, maybe offer me a free drink for my inconvenience but of course not, you know no one had been sat there by the time I left!!!!! Very disappointed 1st time customer here every year for...

MaryErin G was our waitress and we were so disappointed with the service. First off when arriving they told us it would be a 2 hour wait. So we drove to the boardwalk and did not realize that about 40 mins later we got a txt for our reservation. They tried to put us at the end of the list but we tried getting there ASAP to get in. We then met out waitress who didn’t tell us any of the specials, meanwhile we heard another waitress telling her table. I ordered the minuto which comes with a souvenir cup. However I was served my minuto in a Regular glass and the waitress tried to tell me that it didn’t come in a souvenir cup. She only swapped my drink into a souvenir cup after I showed her the menu where it clearly said it comes with the souvenir. Anyways.... we then made our order which took about another 30 mins. By the time I got my bbq combo, the Mac n cheese was hard on top (not to be confused with crispy) as if it had only been reheated in a microwave. In addition, I ordered the fries as my second side, well they decided to give me corn bread (I don’t care for cornbread) so we had to send it back. We saw people walking in from the dock with no shirt or masks (in the middle of COVID) which was unsettling to many guests. The bathroom had toilet paper scarps on the floor which was sad since hygiene is stressed from the moment you walk in. Also, my husband and I each requested a to go container for our individual meals, she gave us just one, maybe expecting us to cram both meals into one. (We had lots of left over since we had originally gone back to the boardwalk for snacks). On top of that, when she brought us the to go containers she put our bill INSIDE the container, gross. The view was lovely and the live music was fun, other waitresses seemed very attentive, but I think we just didn’t get one that was...

Went to have drinks and a couple apps this afternoon after a morning on the boat. Atmosphere was nice, though the live music was a bit too loud.

We ordered drinks and food at the same time. Only 2 of the 3 drinks came out. The food came out before my girlfriends dad even got his beer. Points for quick kitchen!

I ordered the bbq brisket loaded fries. When they came out they had green onion/scallion. Wouldn't know which one it actually was since its not stated on the menu and I would have asked for them to be omitted upon placing my order. It wouldn't be a big deal, except they are one of the few things I absolutely cannot stand the taste of. We tried to pick them out, but there were entirely too many and they were stuck in the cheese pretty bad.

My girlfriend got up to find our waiter to tell him we were still missing a beer and wanted to know if we could get a new order of fries without the scallions. We even would have paid for a new order, no problem! I was just so hungry lol. She found him and he was running drinks to another table, but when he was done he disappeared with out stopping by to check on us.

A bus boy came by to clear my girlfriends dads plate because he had finished at this point. We told him we were still waiting on the beer and he was kind enough to get that for us. We decided to just box up my loaded fries and bring them home to family so we asked the busser for a box because our server was still M.I.A.

He finally came to check on us and we simply asked for the check. 61.00 later and I'm still hungry and a little sad because my girlfriends family loves it there and really talked it up to me.

Might try again...

Great location with really good service of food that is unfortunately riding on long reputation of being good from the past. We drove down from our northern island area to grab an early lunch & view here at The Surfing Pig as it has always been a reliable eatery. Santa just arrived on the dock to visit today. Arriving a wee bit early for noon serving we drank some cocktail drinks served in nice aluminum drink cups. The Rum Runner was heavy with banana but enjoyable, def recommend the Watermelon Margarita. Highlight of my lunch. Ordered: House Special: Crab Quesadillas & Pulled Pork Tacos to share with one another. The Quesdadillas; 1st taste was a mouthful of salt. Not Old Bay seasoning, but salty-salt. Geez. A few bites later it was an ok dish that was nothing to brag about. Pulled Pork Tacos had nice toppings to cover over much of the dried out meat. Even though the pork had flavor it should have been dumped-not served. Picked through the taco and ate what was OK. The fries were uneventful & not crisp. Almost like in the UK chips. Ordered them extra crispy. We stopped ordering food & had ordered cocktails instead. Advice stick to what you can actually do really well. Hats, stickers & apparel available for purchase. The single bathroom was clean. Located in dining area has no fan inside. It was about 78 degrees outside and 90 degrees in the bathroom. Felt like a Petri dish experiment inside that room. Ewww.

When we stay at Wildwood we're always trying to find new places to visit and dine at. This was the latest discovery in our adventures. I will say we wanted to try something different and we wanted to try something out of the way from the piers and where the crowds are. Let me tell you this place gets packed, we got there around 5pm and it was a good time, we ended up getting seated right away. By the time we left there was an 45 minute wait for a table for 3. We were nosey and overheard the hostess with another party. :) The views are spectacular. I posted the few photos I took. We sat right by the docks and enjoyed every second of it. The breezes were great and they do compensate for the heat by having fans going. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. They made recommendations from the menu. My wife had the ribs (amazing) and I had the coconut shrimp (also amazing). I had the oysters and my wife had the boom shrimp for our appetizers. The drinks were also good, I went with the mojito. I would absolutely recommend this place. Just remember to get there early. We read some reviews before going and they noted that waits can get up to 2 hours long on the weekends. We went on Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll absolutely visit on our next trip to Wildwood.

Pretty views, and a long wait. We were driving up from a day in Cape May and decided to get a bite to eat before heading home. Found this place for the location. It was about a 45 min wait, they had a live musician playing in the back and that may have been the reason for the longer wait time. We got a nice table overlooking the water which my son really enjoyed as you can see from the photo. We had the fish tacos which were good, however had I known, I would have asked for the dressing to be on the side and not so much on the tacos themselves. It was a little too much for me, and overpowered the plate a bit. I had a burger with a fried egg on it which was really good and juicy. The star however was I think the tuna nachos (not the actual name). This was really good and if you like a little raw fish this was perfect. My son can be a little picky as most kids are at that age but he really liked the plain burgers, that he had two orders. Get here a little bit early get a good seat to watch the sunset, and enjoy an evening with some nice views, hopefully the waiting time is a bit better.
