This is one of the coolest, sweetest, most fascinating places to visit. Where do you even begin..Everytime you turn your head there is something else to see that just makes you smile from from ear to ear..Such a cool 50s- early 60s vibe, they have not neglected any details of my younger years...even right down to the bathrooms!!! In the ladies room there are such things as a pink hair salon chair and the rotary phones we used to remember...Throughout Scoops there are "halved" cars in those delicious creampuff colors I wish would return again..Well, speaking of delicious let's not forget what this place is all about- the Ice Cream...They are so wonderful they even had a non- dairy option for me as a vegan and my family loved the "regular" options..so many to choose from. On a personal note..we have been traveling to Cape May/ Wildwood area for 12 years now and always make Friday night the Wildwood Boardwalk night..I am afraid to say this year they really put the WILD in Wildwood...during a pandemic, many- many without masks..no attempt at social distancing which I get in that atmosphere is difficult, but at least wear a mask.Cape May was just the opposite..People much more respectful of one another. It hurts me to write this because we always have a lot if fun on the Boardwalk every year, but we had to leave within a half hour it was so awful...but all was not lost because we found this Oasis in the desert known as Scoops and all was right with the world again.. I would like to personally like to thank the people of Scoops for making sure ALL safety rules were followed and they made everyone feel really good and safe being there..Such a...
Read moreI found this gem online while looking to allergy friendly places to take our 5 year old son to. I was not expecting to find an ice-cream parlor. Anyone who has a child with a food allergy knows, dessert shops are a big no no. After calling to make sure I wasn't crazy, the male owner (I'm so sorry to not remember names!) not only was hysterical, but reassuring. This was our first stop in Wildwood! Our son has only had homemade icecream, and has never visited an ice cream parlor so it was a big day for our whole family. Something normal, something almost every kid experiences! The female owner and her staff were INCREDIBLE!! They let him sample flavors, made it important, it just felt so gratifying to see his little head peaking over the icecream counter. Everyone ready to get his order! My heart! The owner served him a special cup and sealed spoon with napkin to indicate it was allergy free. We ordered 4 more flavors and I'll be making the trip again soon with the family, just for the icecream and the awesome memories. Thank you to everyone at Cool Scoops, you made our vacation a memorable one and made my 5 year old little boy feel like a normal kid at an...
Read moreEverything about Cool Scoops is like the TV show "Happy Days". The owner named Paul, is like one of the main characters "The Fonz". Why, because he is Mr. Cool himself, greeting folks, and making sure everyone is happy. The décor is fabulous and makes this a destination stop for anyone in the vicinity. As one can see, NY & Hollywood stars, and musicians make this their premiere stop in Wildwood, as does anyone who would know what cool is all about. As for the goods. . . . .The ice cream is what it's all about. . . this is premium product. Of course, burgers & frys are on the menu. They have plenty of selection, it's all good, and even that finicky vegan in the family can get their coolness here too. (OK - I personally feel vegan ice cream is wrong but they feature it for those special folks like my daughter) Of course there are plenty of cool Facebook or Instagram photo opps in here from the old school seating to the Elvis statue to the classic cars. Nostalgia adorns every wall space from the neon sign outside to the sports memorabilia to the bathrooms walls. Bottom line, YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THIS PLACE !! Milk shake, please...
