I wish I cld say we had a great time here at Grecian but we weren't allowed to check in. When I was researching for a clean and affordable hotel, I finally chose the Grecian bc of the positive reviews. I am the type that does extensive research. I kept going between Expedia, Priceline and Booking.com. While on Priceline, I plugged in 1 adult and 3 children. Several hotels came up with prices I cld afford including the Grecian. I also noticed from my constantly going back and forth that at one point Priceline and/or Booking.com changed the no. of guests to two. I then went back and changed to 4. I then just went ahead and booked through Booking.com bc it was giving me the same rate as Priceline. At the last moment (day bf), my mom who just turned 80 decided to come. When we got out of cab, the manager didn't greet me warmly. Instead of saying hello, how can I help you, he said in a strong tone how many ppl? My family actually stayed outside. I gave him my name and no. of ppl. He said that the cost is more. I said that only my mother is extra. He went onto say that I booked for two. I said that's wrong; it's for 4. Since I stated I can not pay extra, he stated strongly, "we can NOT check in." Although I stated that I purposely booked for 4 and not 2, he didn't believe me and said I'd have to take that up with booking.com. we came all the way from NY. I couldn't believe his attitude. Another guest came in and mgr treated the man so nice and laughed with him at whatever they were speaking about. Instead of arguing, I cancelled my reservations, walked about 5 blocks to the Caridean hotel and was welcomed with open arms. I went back to the hotel and told the manager how wrong he was and I guess since I spoke to him in front of another guest, he decided to speak in a soft tone and act somewhat apologetic. He had the nerve to try to correct my use of verbiage when I stated to him that he is to treat all "customers" properly. He had the nerve to say, "it's not customers but guests." He's ignorant. I refused to continue addressing someone who has no clue. I wouldn't recommend staying herr bc customer ("oops, "guest") service is more important than a whole lot of...
Read moreOnly getting 2 stars for service. Nic was wonderful! But the rooms weren't, we had to change rooms from our first one another flight up. Which was ok . Being inconvenienced and not getting anything back for it , just a room change is not ok. The pool closed way to early my kids really couldn't enjoy their stay. The rain keep us in on Friday most the day. I stayed at other hotels and was never disappointed as i was with this one!! The one pullout bed had some kinda something on the bottom and doubt it was replaced. I came home to bites on my arms. So check really good for bugs. I did but didn't take notice to anything. Its only cause the first night i slept on the floor and not knowing what was on it. I rather been on the floor than the pullout couch with god knows what on it!! I didn't bother to mention the second pullout had stains as well cause we were leaving and nothing was done about the first one. So check all beds. Cause you won't receive any compensation for it. I'm out $400 cause of extra child (which i never had to pay at other hotels and my room fit 6 people) and my stay wasn't great as its been in the past. This hotel was marked off our return stays. I wasn't going to review this. But today i have more marks on my arm...
Read moreNick,
Was really great and friendly. From the time he woke up until the front office closed he was always doing something and worked hard with keeping the pool clean, and made sure the guests accommodations were met. He did a great job with running the hotel. The house keeping service was nice and came ever morning asking if we needed fresh towels ect. If I had to suggest things it would be to have extra blankets and pillows in the rooms especially for someone that slept on the pull out couch. The bathroom and kitchen could use some upgrades. I was informed that the kitchens in the rooms were going to be redone in the off season. Aside from some fresh paint it was not a bad room. Just remember if you stay here to bring your own pots/ pans, cooking stuff and plates, dishes, utensils if you do not request them ahead of time. Other than that we had a great 3 night 4 day stay there. My son is already asking when we can book a room for...
