I’ve never written a review before but I had such a terrible experience that I felt compelled to write my very first review.
After my mom and I ordered our food and drinks with the man that was behind the first counter, we went to the second counter to pay and saw that the lady made a mistake. My mom ordered a mocha latte because there was a huge sign in the front window advertising mocha lattes for $2 and my mom figured why not try it since it’s only $2. When we saw the receipt, we saw that the lady charged us $3.49 so we told her she mischarged us. The lady threw her hands up in the air and said “it’s too late now, you should’ve told me before you paid that you wanted it rung up that way”. We were in complete disbelief that those words actually came out of her mouth but calmly told her that the man told us it was $2. She then angrily and hastily yanked two dollars out of her tips jar and shoved it over to us. Then she asked if my mom wanted the mocha latte hot or iced and my mom said hot. The man walked over and said “wait you want it iced now?” My mom said “no, I want it hot” (which is what she said when she originally ordered it with the man at the first counter). Then he says in a really loud voice “there are two options, hot or iced, you have to choose one. You can’t have both!” And that’s when I stepped in and repeated that she already said hot.
The whole experience was completely absurd and ruined our entire day. We couldn’t believe how incompetent, rude, and disrespectful the employees were acting towards us. It’s such a shame because the food was delicious and I will definitely continue eating at Einstein, but never again at this location with these...
Read moreI've been visiting this Glenview, IL location since it has opened, my office and my home is in the neighborhood. Today I sent two of my employees to pick up some bagels for my staff. One of my employees is a foreign lady that speaks english perfectly fine but has an accent. It definitely does not warrant the level of humiliation she had received from one of your staff members at this location. First, there were no signs on the door that indicates the proper door to enter. So my two employees accidentally entered through the Exit. Could be viewed as a simple mistake and corrected in a customer service oriented way by your staff, yet my employee was yelled at with the Einstein team member pointing their finger outside, as you would to a child walking into a room they shouldn't have. Second, I would think for any team member working the counter at a fast casual restaurant (Einstein Bros) that team member would be taught to exude patience and understanding of people that may talk "different". Yet, your Einstein Team member ridiculed my employee for her accent. Is it really necessary to yell, "WHAT", before she could finish saying "jalapeno cheese"?? Not only was she ridiculed but your staff member started raising their voice at her saying that she can't be understood. Lastly, once the order was up, the bag containing the order was tossed at her rather than handed. Come on, this could put any body in a foul mood. It's 9AM! I normally look past inconsistencies in customer service at national retail chains, since QC may deem difficult. Read moreI can’t believe Einstein went from my favorite breakfast place to losing my business. It all started when they closed the lake avenue location which had competent employees who seemed to care. This location I have never seen such inept employees working for an established chain restaurant. This location does not respect your time or schedule. The app says order 15-20 minutes ahead of time. This was accurate for lake ave, not phingstin. I would order 45 minutes ahead of time cause I knew they were never ready and still I would have people with walk in order arrive and leave before my mobile order. Not to mention the place was abandoned alone Saturday at 7:20 AM! I drove all the way there, the lights were off, and I didn’t get a refund for the app. The following Monday after another 45 minutes mobile order wait I officially declared I will never use Einstein again.
Update: 5/24/2022 After trying Einstein's again after about a week things seem to be running smoother. I see some of the old employees at the Lake location here and It seems they got rid of some of the dead weight on the team. Hopefully they can...
