I recently visited with a group of people on a Saturday night. Truth be told. I had no idea this place even existed until my friends said, "Hey, let's go to the Social Inn!" So I looked at their menu online and it looked pretty good.
So let's dig into it. It has a pretty decent menu with lots of options whether you eat meat or don't.
Our party was there for the first time so we had to get some apps, salad, and mains. I ordered a caesar salad with dressing on the side. It arrived with the dressing on it (no big deal) in a huge bowl and could have easily served three people. It was a good salad and the dressing was not overpowering. I also ordered one of the specials of the evening (based on our server’s recommendation). I got the gnocchi. It was a cheese filled gnocchi smothered in a tomato vodka sauce. It was really, really good and not a huge portion.
My wife ordered the red and gold beet hummus which ended up being hummus with beets on top - not what she expected. And she got a salad as well that was pretty good.
Another friend ordered the farfalle noodle dish. She said it lacked flavor and there was a ton of it.
Lastly, the other couple ordered the lamb and chicken + thyme. Both liked their dishes. Though the chicken dish was drowning in sauce.
Overall, it was a pretty good place. I’ll have to come back and try the chicken or...

Went for an early New Year's Eve dinner. First warning sign was that the restaurant was nearly empty. By the time we left around 7pm, the restaurant was only about half full. On New Year's Eve...
The restaurant decor and ambience are wonderful, the wait staff were attentive. Cocktails were excellent. Then the food arrived...
It was lackluster at best with small portions for the price. The beet mezze was decent but dry and could have used a dressing to tie it together. The mozz+feta cheese sticks were OK. My wife got the Cornish hen, which she said was extremely dry and nearly inedible. I got the cacio e pepe, one of my favorite pasta dishes. What I got was not cacio e pepe. It was spaghetti swimming in a milky liquid with clumps of cheese in it.
This restaurant has a lot of potential, but the skill of the kitchen can't currently match the ambition (and price)...
Read moreTucked away in Plaza del Prado, this restaurant is a gem. We found it almost by accident when looking for a restaurant that served lamb. 2 people in our party got the lamb dinner and thought it was excellent - flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the duck which was also flavorful and cooked to perfection and not at all dry. The broccoli served with it was done perfectly, not at all mushy and not overly salted but not bland. The other person in our party had the rainbow trout that was on special that evening and thought it was delicious. We also had a grilled calamari appetizer that was on special, and it was done very well, tender and with a delicious chimichurri sauce. The brussel sprout appetizer was fantastic, a bit out of the ordinary with a whipped goat cheese sauce on the bottom, bacon and pomegranate seeds. The service was attentive without being annoying, and the ambience was fantastic. The cocktails were also very well executed. It was a wonderful meal, and we will...
