Looking for a change of pace, my wife and I stumbled upon this small, family-owned gem in the north end of Glenview. We weren’t familiar with Armenian cuisine, but the reviews were solid so we decided to give it a try. Really glad we did!
From the outside, one wouldn’t guess the foodie paradise that lies within. Parking is behind the building and it’s a quick walk into this friendly establishment. The young lady behind the counter was courteous and helpful, took time to explain some items on the menu, and repeated our order back to us to be sure she had it right.
Curiosity got the best of us and we sampled various items from their menu including chicken kebabs, steak kebabs, beef kebab wrap, mushroom pilaf, lentil soup, sliced & spiced potatoes, cabbage salad, and their special house rice - and everything was amazing. The only thing I’ll order differently next time is to request the wrap with less rice, as I felt it was stealing the show from the other ingredients. But that’s just my personal preference.
We took the food home and what a pleasant surprise! The style of cuisine is familiar but the spice profile is different than our usual Mediterranean go-to places. I’ll try to cover the highlights although I don’t think I can do justice. First and foremost, the food was fresh with high quality ingredients. The meats were cooked perfectly tender. And the textures & flavors were amazing in the mushroom pilaf and lentil soup. Each had a little something special that made my wife and I look at each other and smile as we ate. The cabbage salad was fresh & crisp with not too much vinegar-based dressing often used in this type of preparation. We couldn’t believe that EVERYTHING we ordered was a hit, and even the potatoes were surprisingly tasty - and not oily at all.
My wife and I are foodies, and we try to keep healthy as well. Recently having lost 65 pounds on a diet plan, my body just doesn’t like some of my old favorite foods (sorry, breakfast bacon cheeseburger)! We are always delighted to find fresh, good tasting food that we can devour without feeling guilty after. This place hit the mark from the moment we walked in, to the sampling of the various dishes, to the last yummy bite.

Read moreUpdate I love this place. We would order up to 3 times a week. But they are still using Salinas Romaine Lettuce. So until lettuce is safe to eat. Or they start getting their lettuce from a safer area. I will have to stay away.
I am so happy to say the Grill is back on track. I have been back ordering with them after a small hiatus. Tonight I wish I could show you a picture of what they did for me. I got a double order of salad and a double order of chicken with Baba Ganoush. I couldn't be happier. They are the nicest people and very accommodating. I rely on the when physical limitations prevent me from cooking and my friend Kirby picks my food up. The food is again consistent. Thank you guys. I have said below in an earlier review, I love this place. Enough to order up to 3 times a week. But the food has been very inconsistent the last few weeks. My favorite meal is the chicken, potatoes, salad, and baba ganoush. The chicken has been dry, the potatoes have been mushy, the salad has been inconsistent in ingredients, and the baba ganoush has been sour. And the salt!!!! My boyfriend orders for me and picks it up. So I don't go in myself or I would ask....what's up? Maybe new cooks? HELP!!! I love the Suinik Grill. They are 3 minutes from us. We order from there sometimes 3 times a week. I like that i can have a salad with my grilled chicken. The food is consistently very good. It is a healthy alternative to cooking, and quick. We always get takeout and I don't pick the food up, but my friend says the owners and people working there are very nice. To me that makes the food even better. I highly recommend this establishment. Nothing compares for price and quality...

Authentic Mediterranean Cusine for a great price, just about $10/adult, with kids meals (basically same food but smaller portions) available for just about $6-7/ child.
Dine in area is small fitting about 3-4 tables inside fitting about 10-12 people inside, with some outdoor seating available with 1-2 tables fitting an additional 6-8 people.
This place is usually busy on weekends, but don't forget about their lunch specials for $6.95!
It's best to order via GrubHub or call in, because the wait time for food can be about 20-30min during busy times.
The food is very healthy and does not make you feel guilty. Entres are the best value where you choose your protein (pork, ground beef kefta/lula, chicken, steak, or red kidney beans), then you choose your 2 sides (hummus, cabbage salad, baba ganoush, Jerusalem salad, or tabouli salad), then you choose your starch (Armenian rice, Kasha buckwheat, or potatoes). Entres also come with half a large pita bread.
Restaurant also supplies plastic fork and knife utensils as well as nice napkins. Friendly service, and they have a smart assembly line working in a tight kitchen. Parking lot is also tight on weekends but you can find a spot easily.
I appreciated the portion sizes & friendly services. Can't wait to...
