Northfield Garden is in a small strip mall on US-9. They are primarily a Chinese takeout, but they do also serve dine-in customers, albeit with only two available tables. One thing I noticed is service is very good and the lady will take care of anything that you need. As a plus, pretty much the entire takeout menu is available for dine-in and the combination platters are quite impressive when served on a plate instead of in a takeout box. As always, the first thing I tried was the pork egg foo young. It's a benchmark I use for all Chinese takeout places and here, they did rather well. I thought with a 4.9 review my food would be acceptable. $35 wasted … the crab Rangoon were soggy, no crunch is this was from a bite as soon I waited and got my order. The General Tso chicken was soggy as well, no crunch at all. The vegetable fried rice had onions or possibly a couple pieces of BLK Chou and a couple pieces of broccoli (is this the only vegetables you have)? Before today I would give this place 5 stars easily. Their chickens never been questionable, the foods always been fresh , and there always seems to be a fresh take on classics that are stale at other spots.However, today I order the generals chicken combo, and this dish was horrible. This seems to be the one safe choice at any Chinese place , but not here. The sauce was to acidic and almost reminded you of tomato based sauce that hasn’t cooked down enough.
