I finally chose to go here because my friend had been here before and thought it was good. I didn't know what to expect. When you walk in, there is no one to greet you. We walked over to the cash register where someone was waiting to take our order. The menu is printed on paper and there was a chalkboard with today's special written on it. There is no table service other than when they bring your food to you. Today's special was lasagne and salad for $13.95. I ordered the baked ziti. It only comes with garlic bread, so I added a salad. I did not order a drink, but was given a foam cup and charged $2.40 for it anyway. We both tried the old fashioned lemonade. It was nothing special. The food came about five minutes later. The salads arrived with the meal. The salad was good, but there were too many carrot sticks in it and not enough tomato. It was primarily iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, and carrot sticks. The salad had two pieces of toasted bread of some sort that was hard enough to break your teeth if you tried to bite it. The lasagna was awful. My friend didn't like it. I tried a bite and there was no flavor. It was like noodles and maybe some ricotta cheese. You couldn't taste any meat. The sauce was served on both sides of it and was watery. My ziti was good. It had a little spice to it and you could taste the meat. I was afraid that it was going to be all cheese, but I'm glad it wasn't. A loaf of garlic bread came with both entrees. It was soft and flavorful. If all you wanted was salad and garlic bread or ziti, this would have been the place. I won't be returning because I could spend the same $40 at Olive Garden and have table service and more quality food for the price. It just wasn't worth it.

The lasagna is great, the salad “Mr G’s Special Salad” is really good. I just tried the wings for the first time and I’m not impressed at all!!! Asked for “hot” and there is really no sauce on them at all! They are over fried and small! For $6.75 for 6 wings you should be getting a great product but not in this case. Really good food at this place (steer away from the wings) and have been going there for 20yrs now and this is the first time I was disappointed.

The meat lovers calzone I had was outstanding! I had been to Mr. G's in years and I wondered if a calzone would be as good as I remembered, and it was! Mr. G's is almost exactly like it was years ago and it could use some refreshing. Otherwise, the service was good, and the food was great. Try it if you like Italian food. I absolutely LOVE their dipping sauce! ♥️

I went by one of my favorite places to eat on Thursday, June 2, 2022, Mr. G’s!! I have always loved the spaghetti with meat sauce, which is the Monday Special, but it was Thursday, but still wanted the spaghetti and meat sauce. I place my order and they stopped including the salad some time ago. But I wanted a salad to go with the spaghetti quite some time ago. Rather than pay $3.95 (or close to that), I decided I can get the large salad, Bacon, Ham and Cheese, Swiss cut in squares….I’m not a cheese person but like the Swiss cheese on this salad, it’s $9.95 I believe, up $2+ from last year. But I knew I would have salad the next day, I order the salad to go and asked for a small bowl so I could eat some there with my spaghetti. Great service at the counter ordering, very pricey though. Took my seat after getting my drink and waited for the food, which didn’t take long. I unpacked my salad which was wrapped well and in a bag. Emptied a little out into the bowl they had brought me. Couldn’t find any cheese, at all. So I asked an employee as he walked by, he apologized, I held the salad (which was Much less than cold, barely above room temp. , but I didn’t mention that. The employee asks me to turn the salad upside down in the container as it might have the cheese on the bottom and I’d already looked, there was no cheese. He goes back and was sweet enough to bring out a little container of shredded mozzarella, and said he just grabbed that and is it ok? I tasted it and said it was ok but I liked the other, but didn’t want to keep bothering them!! Sprinkled a tiny bit of it on the little bit of salad in my bowl, but it just didn’t have the same taste. So, I stop the next employee that walked by and she apologized, again, I held the salad for her to take back and have it added, but she went to the back without it. Minutes later, I suppose the man who made my salad comes to my table, horribly mean and maybe insulted look on his face, never asked a word. I held the salad over, he just stretched his neck one way and the other, looking on the table and it made me feel he suspected me of going through and picking all the cheese and eating or maybe hiding it on my table???? What?????!! So, I’m already thinking this meal is about $30 by the time you add a drink too. He turns around, storms to the back and a minute later he slaps a to go cup of the Swiss cheese on the table and is gone. All this time, my spaghetti is getting cold and I ate a couple bites and asked for a to-go box, took it home and haven’t touched it! So ticked at being treated like a criminal and I’ve frequented this restaurant since they opened in Tuscaloisa. Also frequented the original one in Demopolis and the newer one there too. It was a bad experience overall and I couldn’t believe it. I truly never got to see if any of my food was actually good?? The situation spoiled it all. I don’t treat myself to go out to eat too often, but really thought that’s what I wanted. I was terribly disappointed, and I had left a nice tip at the tip jar by the registers when I ordered. I should have asked for my money back and left when it was taking so many people to check the Da**ed salad for cheese! But, I should get at least an apology from management and a $27-30 free meal, I don’t remember the exact amount, but I had onions added to the salad and they charge, I also had extra meat sauce, a container) to my spaghetti. Come to think of it, I only remember ham and my onions added, I didn’t get a chance to see if bacon was on it but I really don’t think it was. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with how they treated me!! And here is is almost 3 years later and I’ve yet to get a message from management for being treated as though I was the “Swiss cheese” thief!! ...

Not to thrilled with our dinner tonight. Decided to bring my youngest son, dad, father in law, and mother in law here for their birthday dinner because they wanted spaghetti. We ordered 2 kids spaghetti meals, 2 adult spaghetti meals, a bbq pizza, a lasagna meal, a hot wings meal, and a chicken tender salad. First off I asked the cashier to have my chicken tender salad tossed in buffalo sauce she had to ask how to type that in on the register. The girl standing beside her said she had to walk to the kitchen to ask them if they WANTED to toss the chicken in buffalo sauce (keep in mind everytime I come here and get a salad they ALWAYS toss it in buffalo sauce) she came back and said that the kitchen staff said they DIDNT WANT to toss it in buffalo sauce so I would have to do it myself when I got the salad. (The kitchen was literally in the back just talking so loud we could here their conversation. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant!) Then she asked me if I wanted to add cheese (even though the menu says chicken tender salad with cheese which i had to point out to her to show it already comes with cheese) out of all the meals that was ordered, ONE adult spaghetti meal came out (my dads) and he was finished with his meal before any of the other meals came out. My salad was the last meal to come out and I still had to walk back up to the counter to get a cup of cheese to go on my salad because they didnt bring it out with my meal. My husband ordered the bbq pizza. They LEFT THE BBQ SAUCE OFF OF THE PIZZA when he went up to the counter to get a cup of sauce to actually make his bbq pizza a bbq pizza they tried to charge him for the sauce that was left off in the first place. This entire meal that was supposed to be a special meal for all of the july birthdays we have in our family turned out to be a complete bust and was just horrible. I am very disappointed in this restaurant and will find somewhere else for our family to eat...

Where do I start? RUNNNN!! I tried this place out, and boy was I pissed off! 1st they took too long to bring the food out, like 25 minutes. So I went back to the front to see what was going on. Some lady that gave me 3 different names was refunding someone's order because he waited too long. So when I wanted a refund, it's a problem. She said they are short staffed. Is that my problem too??? And then magically the food came out, which looked like a 3 year old was in the kitchen cooking. She said do you want the food or do you want a refund? Heffa, I want my money back because it looks a HOT MESS! She yelling in the kitchen, she don't want it because it don't look right! Unprofessional at its finest. I mean who do you cater too? Only clowns and dummies? I work too hard to get treated like I have to buy your nasty food? Why do people think they can treat you like trash and that's OK? The drinks are $2.40 for a cup, water is $.80, salad a charge, fries a charge, pickles a charge, bread a charge!!! Really??? So I called back and asked for a manager/ Hell the Owner, this heffa answered the phone and said her name was Jennifer, then she said her name was something else before I hung up. Bye Felecia! Pleazzze go somewhere else and get treated with respect and spend your money where it's well deserved. It's sad you have to go out of state to get good customer service. I didn't interview you, but I wouldn't have hired you either. I hope you are not in management because you suck. Franchise owner please work on your staff and have group meetings with them and explain to them that providing great customer service is how they are able to come to work everyday and make $150 a week! Get your staff some Culinary lessons or better yet call Chef Gordon Ramsey for that matter. This place needs a makeover ASAP! Health Department please do a pop-up visit. I'm quit sure it's a...
