Royal Buffet — Restaurant in Northport

My family and I liked coming here over the years and we were wanting to try the place tonight for dinner since they've changed their name to Yummy Buffet. But my hubby called to ask about prices and whoever it was that picked up the phone had a feminine voice, sounded like a woman. They're going over prices and at the end my hubby said, "Thank you ma'am" and this employee retorted back in a snarky attitude "By the way I'm not a woman." Hubby was taken aback, he hangs up. Tells me what just happened. Dinner plans have now changed for the evening. You know, this exchange was over the phone and not in person. The employee sounded like a woman to my hubby, who being the polite person he was raised to be, he was just addressing to who he thought was a woman. We definitely are not ever coming to this place again, whether they've changed management or what, I don't know but you treat customers like that and especially over something so asinine? We already preferred Asia Buffet, the new Country Chow's and Buffet City, so we're good when it comes to Asian buffets here in town....

It took this place a little while to get established and with a few hiccups and growing pains they have finally coming to their own. They are doing a tremendous job there and the food is always hot and fresh. Really enjoy the sushi and the fried chicken wings along with all the other Chinese dishes that they have. My son and daughter and I often frequent this place and we have noticed that it has increased in popularity and also they have gotten better with their dishes and keeping the foods hot. The cleanliness of the building is probably a 3.8 out of 5 stars but I believe that that's only because of its antiquity. With a little bit of updating I think they could really turn this into a five-star easily! I do think it would be appropriate for the wait staff to be a little bit more attentive to the customers. Royal Buffet just reopened after what looks like some much needed repairs and building maintenance. The lighting and air conditioning was much better than my last visit. The staff are very friendly and attentive throughout the meal.

Today the sushi offering was a variety of wrapped green beans, artificial crabmeat, cucumbers, and cream cheese.

The hot bar was clean and well attended too. They offered a good variety of chicken flavors (orange chicken Gen Tso’s, pineapple chicken, honey, chicken, and sesame seed chicken), broiled fish, teriyaki chicken on a stick dumplings, fried catfish, along with various other side items. The chicken was crunchy and everything was hot. They also offered a decent variety of fruit and a modest dessert bar.

And for the price of $13, this is not a bad...
