Overall not such a good experience unfortunately. We went with a party of 6 people for an early 530 dinner which we had a reservation for. We had other plans for after dinner. Our seats weren't ready even though they weren't too busy at all at that time. We were finally seated after a half hour. It took another 45 minutes by the time the waitress came to take our order and deliver the food. Way too long. She barely came by the table at all to check on us, we could have used several refills but never got them.
We ordered one hummus and 2 garlic dips. Each are supposed to come with bread. They brought out one plate of bagged pita bread cut into triangles. We each got two small triangles and then it was gone but we still had plenty of hummus and garlic to eat. It took 15 minutes to get our waitress's attention and we asked for more bread. After another long wait, she brought out another small plate which we finished in a minute and had to wait again to ask for more. Finally the food comes out. It tasted fine but just the portions for what you pay for are ridiculously overpriced.
See the photo. I ordered fattoush with chicken and feta. The chicken was maybe 3oz. Feta was one tablespoon. No joke. The salad was about 2 cups. For $17. Our entire party complained about the price in relation to the food you get.
We understand that today everyone is understaffed and cost of ingredients have gone up, but other businesses are managing it- this restaurant unfortunately is not. The table next to us was complaining about the service as well...I over heard them speaking. Another table got up and left before she even came around to take their order because it was taking way too long.
It was my first and last time there. Like I said, the food tasted ok but not worth the nearly 3 hour experience or the $60 dollar bill for two entrees, a simple appetizer and 2 cokes. We won't...
Read moreHave been wanting to go to Le George for a very long time and finally had an opportunity when I went with my family for my birthday. It was midweek and the weather was not great, so things were slower than usual in Northville. George greeted us at the door and we had our choice of tables. We started outside on the porch and ordered wine and appetizers (Hummus and Kibbe). Not only was it slow downtown, but we were early, and we had George's undivided attention. It started raining and we braved it for awhile, but then moved inside to finish our meal. The food was awesome, Kafta, Beef Shawarma, and Lamb Chops, but the best part of the evening was meeting George. He was working the floor, the bar, and cleaning up. His wife (believe it was his wife), was doing the prep and cooking. Just the two of them working the place and it was the best meal I've ever had in Northville.
P.S. If you do go, try the Knefe for desert. I'd never heard of it, but I'll...
Read moreWe ordered the spicy hummus which was great - they do charge you $3 for veggies however. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and got the bill. That was when we noticed we were charged $7 for a side of garlic sauce with our bread. I asked the waitress who fought with us and said we ordered it. However everyplace we go to it is included with your meal. The OWNER came over and fought with us in the middle of the bar. Completely unprofessional and ridiculous. I mentioned about 4 times we didn’t ask for “the bowl” and all he kept saying is “it cost us too much money to make the garlic sauce to be included”. The “little cup” comes included but instead they ordered us the bowl. He actually said “we should have asked if it was complimentary with our meal”. Again, we didn’t order “the bowl”. Instead of making a customer happy over a $7 bowl of garlic we didn’t order he just lost customers for life and will never recommend anyone going to...
