If I could give this place a 0 stars I would. Went here for the first time with my husband. I came inside first since it was raining while my husband parked the car. Since it’s my first time here, I’m going to look at what pastries and other goodies that are in the showcase as well as the menu above the counter. The owner who was this old man said “is this your first time?” I said “yes, why do you ask?” All while smiling, I thought maybe it was funny since I looked overwhelmed with the variety of choices. This old man got very nasty and yelled at me “YOU STANDING HERE IN MY BUSINESS, JUST LOOKING AROUND, WHY YOU STANDING HERE IF YOU NOT GONNA BUY” I informed this Orge of a man, that I was waiting for my husband to come in and we would make a choice together. Since it was my anniversary and I know my husband wanted to try the food at this place I decided not to speak up until we left. Read moreI urge you not to support this business. The owner has exhibited behavior that felt discriminatory and borderline harassing. During a recent visit, I witnessed a Black woman take a seat while waiting, as the line was long. Moments later, the owner approached her, raised his voice, and demanded she leave the seat, claiming it was "his seat" and that she couldn’t sit there since she wasn’t ordering anything.
While I understand that businesses rely on paying customers, the way he addressed her was completely inappropriate and unnecessarily aggressive. It was uncomfortable and disheartening to witness.
Afterward, I looked up other reviews and saw that similar behavior had been mentioned before. I don’t often leave reviews, but I feel compelled to speak up in the hopes that this kind of behavior does not continue unchecked. I can’t say for certain if it was racially motivated, but the way she was treated did not sit right with me—and I will not...
Read moreAn absolute gem in Norwalk. Might I say the best cup of coffee in the city. Located in a historic section of Norwalk Cafe Aroma has comfortable outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating.
Don't think this is just your average coffee shop though. It's a business where the owner not only cares about the product but customer service and the experience. The coffee is served with a soft Amaretti cookie. Every drink I've had here from the latte, to a double espresso to a cafe mocha has been amazing.
The menu doesn't just stop at coffee however there's handmade gelatto, fresh baked goods and numerous other delights. This coffee shop is well worth the drive from Fairfield county and beyond and if the street parking is limited there's a garage...
