We went to Casa Bravo Saturday night after I had gotten off of work. We had never been, and mexican sounded good. It seemed more legit than the other location in Norwalk and decided to give it a try.
We were seated quickly. However, it took forever for our waitress to get to us and even longer to get chips and salsa. When our waitress finally did get to us, we ordered everything at once so that we wouldn't have to wait for her to come back. I got fajitas with chicken, shrimp, and steak, and my boyfriend got a chile colorado rip off, we also got their street tacos to share.
The queso was extremely wet and coldish, so I wasn't super excited to get our food. When my fajitas came out, the skillet barely sizzled, and again, my food was cold. The meat was so dry, there were only 4 pieces of shrimp, and the flavor was not the best. My boyfriends entree was also cold, with little portion of meat and a lot of peppers to make up for it. It was also impossible to get the tortillas that went with our entree.
We had to ask for our street tacos, which again turned up cold. They were flavorless, and again, the meat was dry.
I didn't even want to stay for dessert. We ended up picking it up from aldi rather than trying the fried ice cream.
We didn't even try to complain. Our poor waitress was already so busy, and I doubt we would've gotten a better plate the second time.
All in all, I've had Taco Bell more authentic and fresh, and it would've cost a lot less to go there. It's a shame because I really wanted a Mexican restaurant close to home, but I guess we'll be driving out to Sandusky or Amherst.
The place is getting 2 stars only because of our waitress. The poor thing was stretched thin, running back and forth, and really tried her best to keep her hospitality high. It's a shame she didn't have more support that night, but her effort didn't...
Read moreThe food was pretty good. I personally had street tacos, but I felt they didn't have enough onions, and the tortillas became soggy after a while. However, I can forgive the soggy tacos as not everyone wants really toasted tortillas, so I might be an outlier.
The service was average to poor. I don't like to make comments on service the first time, as one visit isn't enough to properly judge a restaurant, but I can forgive less than stellar service. The server himself was friendly.
The atmosphere felt as ordered from Amazon as it can get.
The piña colada I got was $8.50, which did not even have fruit, and was hard to drink with a straw as there were too small to remove yet big enough to clog the straw sized pieces of ice.
My family and I left with full bellies and an empty wallet. The bill totaled $120ish, which is not very bad, but it was a slap in the face to see a convenience fee when I didn't get my Valsa Verde.
The bathrooms are one person for male and I assume female as well.
Overall, it wasn't bad, and there are much worse things a restaurant can do. I will keep my eyes peeled on the prices when ordering in the future but will return when I...
Read moreI really like the service and prices at Casa Bravos. They have specials throughout the week and offer a loyalty punch card to save even more. The food is always good and they are willing to change dishes to accommodate. They offer vegetarian dishes and you can get some options gluten free. The decor is nice and is usually clean. The restrooms need work but are functional. The employees are what really make this place stand out. They will remember you by name and what seating you prefer. The margaritas are better than most in the area and priced reasonably. I definitely recommend Casa Bravos if you are in the mood for Mexican food in the area. They are easy to find but the parking could be better. You usually have to park in the Aldis or Drugmart parking lot and walk over (it’s right next door). So not a bother at all but I would say this is a good place to eat when you're in the mood...
