We enjoyed our first visit. We tried the cheese fried as an appetizer as friends rave about it. I would describe it as cream cheese and crab tempura with pablo crust them hoisin and yum yum sauce with tobiko topping. Extra yum yum sauce was provided.
We enjoy traditional sashimi so we had salmon roe, squid, yellowtail tuna, and eel ...they all were excellent and served with cucumber strips. Loved the tuna and eel..eel was seared.
We also shared a steak and scallop hibachi dinner. The salad was crisp with carrot/ginger dressing. Very good, they also offer ranch drsg. It also came with a clear soup, which was great...broth with a little seaweed in it. The scallops were excellent and the steak was good and cut into cubes. Next time we would ask if the steak could be medium rare. It also came with brown rice, grilled with a little garlic and some grilled vegetables..ie carrots, onions, mushrooms and broccoli...very enjoyable. Hey also has chicken, shrimp and vegetable hibachi and tempura options with the same.We also had green tea. They had a number of lunch specials. They do serve a number of chinese dishes. Ie kung Pau chicken, sweet and sour chicken. Orange chicken, chicken w broccoli and beef broccoli, they also had chicken and shrimp pad thai noodles, Lo mein and yakisoba variations possible. They serve alcohol and desserts too. Closed Mondays Lunch is 11 to 230 and dinner is 4 to 830 I believe. We will be back to try more and feel comfortable bringing friends that dont eat raw food. Large sushi roll...
Read moreStaying in Norwalk for business. Saw that this was the place to go. I ordered the Norwalk Roll, Pork Dumplings and Chicken Fried Rice. I enjoyed all of it, but wasn’t swooned. The Sushi was my favorite but it wasn’t what I was expecting. That is my fault because I had it in my head that the topping was going to be different. It had a good flavor and was fresh. The dumplings were presented nice and had a nice flavor. The rice was my least favorite. It was basically plain fried rice with strips of chicken laying on top. I got the extra vegetables and asked for no onions. What they put in there was 2 small pieces of red pepper and some broccoli. I’m used to fried rice being fried with vegetables together and the protein. I didn’t like how they served it. That’s not chicken fried rice. That plain fried rice with chicken and broccoli. Lol
It was also heavily peppered and I just didn’t care for it. Someone else might enjoy it very much - but that wasn’t my cup of tea. I don’t discourage anyone from trying it. The sushi probably is the best choice from my experience and the other reviews. They were efficient and super fast...
Read moreA month or so ago, I would’ve given 4 or 5 stars. Since then, a lot has changed, some good and some not.
Good changes:
The gyoza wrapping was nice and thin, very good.
The General Tao’s chicken was actually massive chunks of real chicken. Very tender and wonderfully cooked.
The fried rice is not what most would expect (the very yellow rice), but flavor was on point.
Bad changes:
While some changes of the General Tao’s were good, the way it’s prepared now does not sit well with my stomach. Previously, no issues. Now, not good.
The crab Rangoon we ordered was very different than what it used to be. It looked very pretty, probably closer to what it traditionally looks like, but texture wise it was different. My wife stated: “it’s like the wrapper isn’t strong enough to hold the contents.” And the sauce did not complement it well.
The sweet potato in the sweet potato roll was not cooked all the way, so they were crunchy.
We’ll probably try Suki one more time with different foods, but if my stomach feels the same afterwards, it’ll be the last time. Which is...
