Los Portales Restaurant — Restaurant in Norwalk

To give a fair review I've visited this place several times. Unfortunately it is over hyped. This place is more of a place to go and drink and it just happens to have food. The menu didn't have many selections but food was decent. The waitress didn't know the menu. Staff definitely gives preference to a certain race. I asked for water 3 times, 2 different people and never got it. During dinner a couple came in, sat about 4 tables away. I saw the bartender run and give them water without them even asking for it. Saw a hispanic couple after dinner and again no water. I thought it was just my imagination but when i returned the 2nd and 3rd time I saw how others got treated better. Los Portales has the best Mexican food in all of Fairfield County. The waitstaff is pretty friendly too. The only bad thing about Los Portales is that I can't find a legible menu online anywhere, so I uploaded one here. As for the food, not only is there a wide variety of dishes but the dishes are delicious and authentic. The last time I ate in their restaurant was pre-COVID, but I still get takeout. This is the second time I have been there with my family and have encountered the same problem. We literally have to wait 40 + min for our food to the point that my little one gets so upsets. The waitress’s doesn’t even bother to come an check on us nor let us know what’s going on until we call them. To me very unprofessional !!!
