I originally left a 1-star review the week Gionino's opened because they were closed at 8:30pm on Friday, with the phone endlessly ringing (no message/voicemail) and no notice on the website. We finally got carryout last week, so I'm back to revise.
Saturday night during the Buckeye game, we ordered a Large half-and-half with the regular thick crust, and a Small cheese bread for $25 total.
Online ordering was easy, and I really liked that I could use multiple online deals in the same order, unlike many places--please keep this! Pricing was fair: pretty middle-ground for a small shop with the online deals, and the regular-crust Large is quite a lot of food. The two of us ate this order for 3 meals.
Food was ready on time, and the light staff was slammed but friendly enough and polite. Pickup was smooth; waited under 3 minutes with two people picking up ahead of me.
The food was solid! I could believe that the sauce is made in-house: slightly sweet (but not sugary like Romeo's) with obvious onion flavor. It's a heavier, darker sauce, not watery. We liked the cheese, too: Nothing crazy, but good flavor. Note this was a seriously greasy pizza, love it or hate it. Enjoyed the cheese bread too--very garlicky but not too much.
Overall, this was one of the more unique "normal" pizzas I've had in a while, not the same old square-cut cracker-crust Ohio pizzas that most independent shops are hell-bent on copying.
If I could change anything, I'd dial back the grease level by about 20%, and I would use less dough. This is quite a dense, chewy, filling dough, and there's a lot of it. We'll buy this again, but we'll definitely try out their thin-crust next.

Read moreI placed an online order Friday night at 5:17 PM with a quoted delivery time of 50 minutes. Understanding that it was the business’s first week open, I gave plenty of grace and waited an hour and a half before reaching out.
I then received an email asking how my order was, even though I hadn't received it yet. I started calling the location, but the phone just rang repeatedly. After about 30 minutes of trying, I finally got through—now two full hours since I had placed my order.
When I explained the situation to the person who answered, instead of an apology or concern, I was met with, “What do you want me to do? We just opened this week.” He then told me my order was at the store and I could come get it if I wanted. I had paid for delivery for a reason, and by this point, I had completely lost confidence in the process. I told him to cancel the order, and he said he would “leave a note” and “hopefully they receive it”—not very reassuring.
The next day, I followed up with a manager. Again, there was no apology, just a vague confirmation that I should receive a refund and, if not, here’s a phone number to call.
I understand that issues can happen during a new opening, but the lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer care made the situation much worse. This experience was extremely frustrating and...
Read moreThis was my 2nd visit to this location. 1st experience, the guy that took my order was super nice and very friendly , but the pizza was so burned that I didn't even eat it. I decided to give them another try, because I read how people we're raving about their chicken tenders. I placed a carry out order and it couldn't have been more confusing and painful. The staff doesn't know the menu, the staff doesn't know how to take orders and the staff working on a Friday night don't know how to be friendly. The chicken tenders were so overcooked and the "jojo's" were cold in the middle and not very good. I ordered a side of mild sauce Buckeye BBQ Ranch and garlic parmesan. I didn't get any of those sauces except for five packets of Hidden...
