I wanted to LOVE IT! My husband is from Youngstown, we love so many of the wonderful Italian Mom & Pop places back in the YO. I was in Hilliard & decided it was time! I had studied the menu several times over the day. I placed a call in order, when I arrived it was ready. The customer service was lovely! We had two orders of the Jim Trafficant’s The meatballs were a 2 out 10 if you rate spaghettio’s meatballs a 1 out of 10. Maybe it was a bad batch all I tasted was a meaty breadcrumbs taste. The red sauce was unique taste, picture Skyline Chili mixed with plain canned tomato sauce. I prefer a stronger fresh tomato, garlic, onion & basil flavor. The pasta was cooked properly, pesto sauce was good! We also ordered the pizza named the butcher. The toppings & cheese were yummy. The crust was good, maybe more olive oil or garlic powder would’ve helped elevate the product. Again the sauce, it was the metallic taste of a canned tomato sauce. At home I added garlic powder, dried basil a tiny sprinkle of sea salt and it was lovely. To the owner, I fully believe I had a bad batch or maybe the cook forgot those important vital ingredients. If they were not accidentally over looked please consider the review and easy low cost modifications would help create the flavors to truly reflect the heart & love of the delicious food found in the...
Read moreIt's a walk-up booth inside a market. Service was quick and I got a pizza with onion and banana pepper.
Overall the pizza was pretty good - you can anchor a boat with the cheese of these pizzas. I underestimated the density and cheesiness - you definitely get your money's worth. Massive quantities of cheese is not personally my preference, so if I go back I'll probably see if they can scale that back a bit.
I liked the onions they used - good flavor like the kind typically used on street tacos. Crust was a bit spongey, but firm enough and nothing got soupey.
I wouldn't classify this as like a craft pizza, but it's certainly of higher quality than like a domino or pizza hut. I'd put it between a 3 and a 4. Good solid pizza to take over the crooked can while you drink a few. I could see people who like mountains of cheese really...
Read moreI visited here on Friday 5/10/24. Purchased 1 wartime consigliere sub. The young lady was friendly. She took my number to text when my order was ready. I was charged .50 to toast my sub. I waited quite a long time and finally stood in line a second time to inquire about my food. It had been sitting on the ledge. She never text me. Said it was too busy. My sub was subpar and definitely cool. I did not enjoy it. I will say she did not prepare it- it barely had any ricotta cheese or pepperoni. This is why I chose this more costly option in the first place. I also find it ridiculous that I was even charged for a toasted sub that I received cold. I will compliment the fact that my generic water from Sam’s club was only $1.00. Still a huge mark up on the $4.00 multipack but reasonably priced by...
