Tried this for the first time yesterday. First off, the service is not great. There was no line, no rush of people, and they showed absolutely no interest in us. (More on the service later in the review.) The food is mediocre. And serving sizes are small. Their largest gyro was 9oz and mostly lettuce. The falafel was absolutely tiny and overpriced. The baklava was also VERY tiny and overpriced. They give you just one piece (for the price I expected two.) It also barely had any substance. Very poorly done. Ordered the vegetarian stuffed grape leaves because they were out of the regular ones. I did not enjoy them. The spicy feta dip was runny. More like soup than dip. To top off all this, I ordered $40 worth of food and they forgot my French fries. On principle, iade the 10 minutes drive from my house to get them. (20 minutes total extra driving.) And got them. It turns out, The fries are right from a bag. Even if I had not driven an extra 20 minutes they would have been disappointing. And the serving size was again, small. To add I insult to injury, when I came in and asked for the fries that were forgotten, the man behind the counter scooped some up, unceremoniously tossed them in a bag, handed them to me , said "have a nice day". And sent me packing without so much as an apology. This is the second part about the service. I worked in Restaurants for 15 years. (Kitchen management) when you forget someone's food and they have to drive from their home to correct a mistake you made (when you weren't I even busy) it's proper to offer something to the customer. Whether it's a refund, Dessert, extra fries, etc. Their attitude toward their mistake that hugely inconvenienced me, made a subpar meal even worse. The only good thing about this meal was the tzatziki sauce. It was pretty good. I'm giving 2 stars because the food was OK. But there was nothing about this place that made it worth any more. I'm VERY disappointed with the quality, serving sizes, and service. I've been looking for good Greek in Hilliard. My search continues. In the end, I'd have rather driven 40 minutes to Whitehall, and had FAR better food at King Gyro at...
Read moreUpdate: I've been here loads of times now. You really can't beat the prices for the amount of food and quality you get. Doesn't travel well or keep very well for later so I'd only recommend going through the drive thru and eating pretty soon afterward or dining-in. Even the hummus expires pretty quickly when kept leftover at home. I think part of the reason it's not very good with food delivery apps is that most drivers pick up multiple orders either from the same place or somewhere nearby so the food is almost never hot or fresh when it gets to you. That's just how delivery apps seem to be no matter the place you order from. Is #1 Gyro the best? No, not mind blowing. But they're good and you get the most bang for your buck compared to other places in the area
Original review:
Ordered through DoorDash. So-so gyros compared to other places but awesome for the price. Their prices are like half that of other gyro places. Solid place, really good gyros for their price range. I'd eat from here again.
The stuffed grape leaves are meat (which I like) but the texture was weird and mushy. Meat grape leaves are supposed to be ground meat and rice but it was paste-like in the center so I wouldn't get it again. Spinach pie is mostly filo dough, lots of bites with no filling, okay but I wouldn't recommend that. The tiramisu was heavenly!! Highly recommend. Did not order any baklava. I think I will next time.
Super filling so we have the red pepper hummus left over in the fridge, will update...
Read moreRetracted 2 stars because of the service and accuracy of the orders. Tonight makes the 3rd time my order has been incorrect in about 6 months and out of maybe 4 orders.
First time it was missing the garlic sauce and feta, they offered me extra for "free" the next time, nothing else, just replacement for what was not provided previously. Next it was not having extra rice and gyro that we were charged for and this time it was chicken instead of gyro meat. Last 2 times they offered to deliver the food but again no compensation for time, frustration and waiting for our meal. I think they could at least offer some hummus, feta or replace the entire meal rather than being cheap about it, particularly after 3 times and other reviews I've read.
Add on that while ordering, he answered a video chat phone call. When he brought the correct order, I mentioned it was the 3rd time and "well it's right now" was all he had to say.
The food is good, better than others in the area, but when service is continually poor, I'll take my business elsewhere.
We've been to Greek Express at Polaris, that I was told was someone else in the same family. Perhaps #1 could learn how to provide service and get orders correct by...
