My mom and I ordered lunch from this restaurant through UberEats and we were incredibly disappointed with our experience. We were inclined to try this restaurant because the food looked pretty good on the UberEats app, but what we received in our order was not what was promised on the menu. We ordered the Citadel platter which was meant to be rice, choice of meat, hummus, a pita and a drink. We weren't able to choose a drink from the beginning but it didn't bother us too much because we didn't really want one anyways. When we got our order there was no hummus, no pita, and no drink. I called to try and understand why we were missing items that we were expecting and the reasoning I got was "we haven't done that in a while" followed by a contradictory "we just got new ownership and are not able to change the information on UberEats or anything else as we do not have access to the passwords." I didn't know how to respond to that nonsense reasoning, so I got off of the phone. After trying the food, we were even more disappointed. It was old with cucumbers that were more water than they were food and little meat on the mountain of rice. Although my mom and I were able to do a "buy one get one free" deal through UberEats, it was still too much money for what this food was worth. I called back for a refund and was denied it due to it being too late after the food had left the store. After being put on hold for this associate to talk to "someone" about it, this rule was made up by the 'store owner' because they felt that since we were able to get a meal essentially free, we shouldn't also be allowed to get a refund. When I pressed further, the associate I was speaking to hung up on me. I tried calling back a couple of times after the fact to see how they would handle the situation, and they just ignored my calls. I'm not sure if this is how it has always been at this restaurant, as it does have a lot of great reviews, but this was beyond unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. New ownership or not, there was no excuse for...
Read moreThis is my third Yemeni cafe in the Columbus area and I have to say that it is my new number one pick. The inside is very nicely decorated, cozy but plenty of seating, and even has hand painted art on the wall. The drinks are made in middle eastern looking cookware, which makes the drinks taste even more special. All of the food looks amazing, hopefully I can keep coming here to try it all. I tried both the Finjani latte and Qishr tea and both super flavorful. To eat, I got a rose cake and pistachio cake. Start the symphony. I thought they looked good in photos but my mind was blown at how good they were. The Service wasn’t bad. It was a man, with what I’m guessing his son at the register and someone in the back. This cafe needs more staffing because beyond the register there was no service. Customers didn’t feel like cleaning after themselves and multiple tables had trays on them. All of the attention was focused on the newly arriving customers, so nobody was able to clean the tables. If this place ever got really busy I can see them running into issues regarding cleaning and dishes. I write this not as a negative aspect but to make the owner aware. At no fault to the cafe, this place is also unfortunately located next to a BMV so parking directly in front can be limited and there can be a line of people standing in front...
Read moreStopped by at this cafe after leaving the BMV, easily one of the best cafes iv ever been to. I like how their menu has a variety of items, ranging from chicken shawarmas, kebabs, all the way to milkshakes, coffee, and desserts. The customer service was excellent. The new owner of the cafe, Joad, is a really nice guy and gave me a free option off of the menu. The setting of the cafe is clean, floors spotless, and with an atmosphere so cozy that i forgot I don’t live there. Great place to get some studying/homework done if you need a place. The “small” beef kebab, is Literally a foot or more long, it’s HUGE. the portions are great and so are the milkshakes. Personally, my favorite menu item is the chicken shawarma. I like it especially because I’m Arab and haven’t had one as good as these in America. You wanna know the secret? It’s made by his auntie!! You know food will taste good if it’s made by either your grandma, mom, or in this case your auntie. So if you want a bite that tastes like home, definitely check this...
