Hilliard Motor Lodge — Hotel in Norwich Township

My wife and I recently booked a stay from Jan 17-30th. We had to check out in the 25th because for the entire time of our stay we had MICE. YES MICE in our room. Each time we told the person at the front desk they would tell us to put out mice traps or move rooms and laugh in our faces. Clark the property manager thought this whole thing was a laughing stock referring the mice as “Mickey and Minnie” and laughing at us each time he came in to get the mice We caught 3 mice in one night. and each time we had to call the front desk to remove the mice. We had a trap wake us out of our sleep at 1:30am and the man up front was ignorantly rude and told us “i’m not coming to get it or reset the trap” after constant back and fourth he finally came to retrieve the mouse but DID NOT RESET THE TRAP .. which resulted into TWO MORE MICE enterting the room and we had nowhere about of where they were. We went to the front desk the next day and requested immediate checkout and a full refund.

Now get this…Neil the front desk person agreed to give us a full refund however when we contact our booking they say that CLARK the property manager doesn’t know who neil is and he doesn’t work there and told them to only give us a partial refund of 160…when we paid 700!!! Everytime we ask to speak to Clark directly they give us an excuse or tell us he’s not in each time we call. But clark is making the decision to not give us our full refund that was AGREED UPON !

DO NOT BOOK THIS MOTEL. ITS MICE INFESTED. DIRTY AND LOUD OUTSIDE. you can hear the tim horton intercom at 5am. You can hear people walking outside and talking loudly . We had to clean the entire place ourselves when we arrived because the housekeeper didn’t bother to clean up and left a stash of bottles in a drawer.The sheets had stains on them , luckily we brought our own towels and sheets. We rented a room last minute based on all of the positive reviews. Unfortunately the room was pretty dated and dirty. The door had to be slammed hard to even close. There were cigarette hole burns in the comforter. I felt afraid to take my shoes off. The bathroom was very dingy and there were various stains on the walls of questionable compositions. There was even a fist mark where someone had tried to punch through the wall near the bathroom door. I fell asleep listening to the toilet running nonstop. The worst part was waking up next to full blown construction going on in the room next store. I'm talking sawing and hammering at 730 am that persisted until we checked out. It's just one of those classic dated motel rooms where if the walls could talk they'd have tales to tell. The man that checked us in last night was nice, which is the only positive thing I have to say. They could have waited till check out to begin tearing entire walls down in the room next to where a family of 4 is trying to sleep considering the majority of the motel was empty. Very inconsiderate. When you pay that sort of money for a bare minimum motel you don't expect it to be a fancy experience but you certainly don't expect to wake up with Bob the Builder going full...

I absolutely love the atmosphere at this hotel. The workers are so very helpful and nice , they go out of their way to make sure you feel right at home. Not to mention that the owners are one of the most sweetest parents and one of nicest couples I have ever met. I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for over a year and I have no complaints at all. The prices are very reasonable and the rooms are nice and clean. And they are upgrading the place. So please if you want a reasonable place to stay at a great price give this hotel a try. UPDATE: I have been reading other reviews, and I have to say , how can you complain for only paying 70 for a clean room ,working microwave, working refrigerator, and excellent workers.
