short summary: the employees forgot about our table while they were doing karaoke and playing in the arcade (on the clock).
i NEVER leave google reviews because i have worked in food service and recognize how hard food service employees work for us. but i am truly shocked and have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant ever.
today (5/4/25), my boyfriend and i were wrapping up our trip to mohegan sun by visiting this location. upon arrival, we were seated right away in an empty restaurant (just us, no one at the bar or any other table). our waitress was very nice, but we noticed right away that the service was a little bit on the slower side. we had no problem with this initially, and never commented to the server about this. the food was OUTSTANDING and we were both initially impressed. we noticed that a lot of the staff was leaving the restaurant and going towards the arcade area, once again not thinking much of this initially. we didn’t put two and two together until our waitress completely forgot about our table. ANOTHER employee came by and finished our tab. our original waitress finally came by as we were leaving, and i could tell about her face that she forgot about us. once again, we did not complain at this point.
it wasn’t until my boyfriend noticed my waitress, as well as several other employees, literally in a karaoke room, where i’m assuming they were walking back and forth to. at this point, i proceeded to complain civilly to a young female bartender. she IMMEDIATELY became defensive, using obscene language when i was just trying to understand the situation. i instead spoke to the kind gentleman at the hostess table, where he told me that she was indeed on the clock and that it was unprofessional.
i am truly hoping that this was just a bad moment on the waitress’ end. the food was excellent, what a shame it was spoiled with what is the worst experience i’ve ever had at...
Read moreVisited here a few times just for fun. First time was good, and felt welcoming; on my next few visits, Game On appeared to be under MSun's priorities, filled with party-like events reserved mainly for larger groups of people (i.e., I couldn't bowl b/c crew members at the front desk simply said they have a long waiting list. They weren't always clear, which made me wonder if they're any fake placeholders on the waiting list, or if the crew members book spots for themselves).
On today's visit, I appreciate the female crew member (wearing glasses and white sweater) for communicating clearly, and for being responsive when I needed help. Because of this, I would bump Game On's rating for today. Still, this post is my overall rating since my first visit.
As for the arcade, I'm glad some games suit my interest. At the same time, while it's already children friendly, several improvements can be made:
(1). Game-card machine/kiosk needs a more intuitive screen b/c it lacks simplicity (though, the game card itself is well intended and convenient to use);
(2). Some games didn't function properly and somehow took my playing credits without me playing yet (e.g., 1 basketball lane didn't have balls in it last time, and I couldn't find help with refund; today, there was 1 pinball machine that didn't render the pinball and took my playing credits, and 1 of the air hockey tables was missing a puck that I needed to ask for one (glad the female crew member assisted me instantly)).
(3). Games should have increased time limits (at least 1-3 minutes added) b/c each round passes too quickly for each game-card swipe, which doesn't...
Read moreGreat place to have fun with the family. Variety of games for adults and kids to enjoy. However, we recently tried to go again on a Tuesday ($20 unlimited arcade games) and we were looking forward it. When we got there, there was a sign stating "We are closed for a private event. See you tomorrow." We had checked their website the night before and right before we went to Game On. Nothing was posted on their website about being closed. I called and inquired about the sign and informed her that nothing stated they would be closed and she stated "we don't know ahead of time about private events, we find out at the last minute." To me, that's inexcusable and doesn't seem right that they don't know ahead of time when there is going to be a private event.Yeah, ok. I asked while on the phone with her "since today (Tuesday) is closed for a private event, do you allow customers to have $20 unlimited arcade games on Wednesday since that offer is only available on a Tuesday and you all posted last minute that the place is closed for a private event?" She said, "No." People drive here and look forward to the experience and nothing tells customers ahead of time that they will be closed. This is why a 3 star was given. They need to change that and post something AHEAD of time stating when the placd...
