I've been ordering lunch from Lori's Deli for quite sometime. Sandwiches are very tastey! However I ordered breakfast for the first time the other day, ham, egg, Swiss, and mushrooms on an English muffin. I show up and I'm blasted by the awful smell of cleaner, a black floor, 2 dog beds in front of the dessert display cabinet, and dog dishes with dried up dog food in it. Okay fine, im late for work, just give me the sandwich, the sandwich lady says "you don't mind if the sandwich doesn't have mushrooms, do you? I think anyone who orders that sandwich agrees the mushrooms are the main part of it. They're all out of mushrooms and the owner is running to stop n shop to get some... alright well can I get a discount? Gotta wait for the owner to come back.... in walks the owner with her old raggedy dog, and a stop n shop bag. The sandwich lady asks did you get mushrooms? The owner lady (lori?) Makes this snooty face and says NOPE THEYRE ALL OUT! I'm thinking she's just being silly sarcastic, no she was just a snoot. I say can I get a drink or something, she says "pfff that's not a fair exchange" .... not a sorry we didn't have any, not even an offer to make the sale right. I told her just give me a full refund then! I will NEVERRRR go back to this place, the dog in a food facility was off putting, but the attitude from the owner was the straw that broke the camels back. I don't know what's going on in that place but it's gone downhill and...
Read moreFirst, the food here is generally delicious. The ingredients are quality and they have some wonderful combinations for their special panini's and wraps. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired. While trying to order lunch I called 5 separate times only to be met with a busy signal every time. I finally decided to go in to order in person.
I placed an order for 1 salad and 1 panini. I was told it would be 10-15min. After sitting there for over 30 minutes, my order was finally ready. I could hear the staff talking and how disorganized they were ("Where's the lettuce?" several times, "Don't do that, I'll do that and you work on this", "Did you do this for this order?", "Where's the slip for that order?"), leading to slowness and inefficiency. When people in the office order lunch from here, they sometimes place the order at 10AM just to make sure that we'll have it delivered on time for lunch.
This service needs to be addressed and remedied. If you're catering to a lunch crowd and billing yourself as "fast food", a 30min wait time for a walk-in order is unacceptable.
Edit: After return visits, the service seems to have improved. The food really is delicious and, with improved wait times and service, I've bumped the...
Read moreI ended up ordering a birthday cake from this establishment for the first time. I reached out to them and sweet momma's being that they're both local (private message on FB).
I then called both of them, I first called sweet momma's in which I quickly was informed by a female who answered the phone and informed me that they don't make the kind of cake that I was looking for.
I then spoke to Lauren and she asked for some details about the cake. I decided to go in and speak to her about the cake and what I was looking for. When I went in, it seemed like an ok place. We checked out the menu and saw a couple of things that we may like.
Anyways, after speaking with Lauren, we agreed on the flavor of the cake and she/her employee came up with some ideas. The cake was ordered 16 days prior to when it was needed for. I picked it up at 3p, after they had already closed.
Make a long story short, people liked the cake. I was not too thrilled as to the writing on the cake and the price for it was steep.
Overall it was an ok experience. I definitely will be shopping around next time.
They definitely mean well with their customer service....
