After moving to Norwich in May of 2018, we tried several of the area pizza restaurants and decided on Vocs. A while ago we ordered some dinners a lasagna that was literally one layer of noodles with meat And ricotta cheese covered with another layer of noodles Some sauce And some Mozzarella. We also ordered eggplant parmesan that was so dry and pasty it was sad. I messaged them on Facebook that same night and never heard back from them. I understand restaurants can have a bad night so we ordered again. I ordered a garden salad and paid extra for shrimp they gave me 6 Quarter sized rubberized shrimp and charged me an extra $2.50 we got pizza and two grinders. I was very specific on what we wanted on the grinders and how we wanted them done, One of the grinders Had so much salt and pepper on it Which was not asked for, it could not be eaten. The other grinder was supposed to be toasted it was a meatball sausage combo there was barely any cheese on it no onions no peppers no flavor and not toasted. I don't know if they are under new ownership I don't know if they are under new management I don't know if they just don't care, I do know I will not be ordering from them any longer. they can't be bothered to respond to Facebook they can't be bothered to prepare edible food obviously they just can't be bothered. I worked in the restaurant business for over 25 years and I can honestly say I have never given a customer such poorly done food. I hear LA Estella is great so we will...
Read moreSeveral months ago, I had ordered a steak and cheese, toasted. I arrived at Voc's Westside before the order was finished. I left and only traveled two minutes before I was able to eat. The bread was soaked with grease.
I gave them another try today. My son ordered a ham grinder and fries (he had no complaints) and I ordered a cheesy garlic bread and crispy chicken Ceasar salad. The garlic bread was good, but the chef salad was not. It consisted of a lot of romaine lettuce, a bunch of flavorless croutons, shredded mozzarella cheese that was mostly melted to the hot diced chicken... if that was even what you call it. It was that spongy cheap "chicken"... possibly mostly soy, partially chicken parts. Either way, it was not good. I'll never order...
Read more5 stars just for the grinders! (Only thing I've tried) some may say I'm particular with my grinder but I like a ham grinder with light meat (sometimes cooked light meat) lettus, tomato, provolone, mayo and mustard salt pepper. Not toasted. You wouldn't believe how hard it is for people to get all the steps.. most commonly they ignore the light meat part and forget the salt and pepper. This place gets it right everytime! The meat is thin sliced and the lettus is shredded 👌👏 I live in old lyme and drive all the way to vocs for a good grinder. Of course I always tip cause they get right! Worth the trip. Thank you for getting something so simple...
