Celine's Sweets — Restaurant in Novato

If I could give 0 stars I would have... We have been to other places like this and everyone has been sweet and welcoming especially to my 3 yr old daughter. A simple hello would have been nice. Not very welcoming. One lady looked like she was upset to be there. The other lady didn’t even notice us and we were standing by the ice cream... trying to get ice cream. She acted surprised to see us as if it’s not a business place where people come in with their kids. My partner and I have been in the customer service business since we were teens. We felt very unwelcome and we couldn’t wait to leave. We are locals and know other businesses where people are nice. I’m not sure if it’s because we’re a mixed race but either way we didn’t feel welcome. No hello no goodbye. We’re definitely not going back. this is the place to go if you have a sweet tooth. as a bonus they have Lappert's Ice Cream from Hawaii. Update: no more Lappert's and it seems like something has changed. i hope it's only temporary. i'll keep you posted. update: i visited again recently and was happily surprised to find my favorite candy was back in stock (sour Dots). my latest crutch is their butterscotch fudge - when chocolate just doesn't bring the desired state...

I just have to say, that the best part of apartment looking in Novato, is the after-stop at Celine's Sweets.
