I saw the chicharrón (pork belly) after ordering a few empanadas and took a chance on it and let me tell you…. That was one of the best chicharrón orders I’ve ever had. It was juicy and tender and easy to bite into, plus with some lime juice on it and it eating this whole half pound of pork crackling was absolute perfection. The empanadas were nicely fried too. I’ve stopped by a few more times when I would grab and go sweet plantains and beef stews with arroz and gandules and just try for the chicharrón again, and it’s still as good as last time. I have been settling for dry and hardened chicharrón for years because the Colombian and other Dominican places fall short but whoever runs this place knows how to make a legit chopped...
Read moreWe live right down the road and were thrilled to see the corner shop opening again! When we saw it was going to be Spanish food we were also very excited as there aren’t as many in the area.
Given we had built up such anticipation while they renovated, we tried it this week for breakfast and lunch, and it was absolutely delicious! The seafood medley and pulled pork with rice were cooked to perfection.
Breakfast was also delicious, although I’ve only tried their bacon egg and cheese sandwich, I’ll be back to try the rest of the menu.
Another huge bonus is they are priced reasonably, which is always nice to see. We can’t recommend it enough and are excited for the memories our son will share...
Read moreBoy, were we excited to have stumbled upon a Latin restaurant in the neighborhood. The first time was a good enough experience to have us return. Unfortunately, the second time we went, it was OBVIOUS the rice and pernil were from the previous day! The rice was hard, and the pernil drier than the Sahara. Our son ordered the pernil, I had the bistec with rice, my husband the pollo guisado, and those too were dry and hard. There is nothing more disappointing than spending $60 on dinner and having to toss it all. Leftovers should NEVER be served from a restaurant. EVER! I'm sure we won't...
