We went to this restaurant for dinner, since it wasn't too far from our hotel. We ordered a beer, burger with fries, and St Louis bbq ribs. They had tv's with the local sporting events on, and a musician that played guitar and sang while we dined. It was fairly busy when we arrived, and the bar area was quite full of patrons sitting and eating/drinking. It's not a quiet atmosphere, so it's a bit hard to talk with the people at your table. Our food came after about 25 minutes, The burger and fries tasted great. My St Louis ribs were not so great. The bbq sauce was good, but the ribs had a lot of fatty tissue around the meat. They were tender but didn't have great flavor, or the fat rendered out of them well. The beer tasted good that was ordered. We may come back to try other entress, but not the ribs in the future. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us often. We went to the ice cream store across the street afterward for dessert and walked around the different shops nearby. A pleasant evening out overall. Parking costs $11.00 for 2 hours at...
Read moreWent on a Tuesday around 530pm. Without our knowledge there was a special beer tasting event. Was never asked or informed that we could be included on this event. They kept making announcements to the whole restaurant. We asked about trying a special beer to our waitress. She replied it was not available. We even offered to pay and she said they could not accommodated. We asked the hostess and they replied they that we should have asked them. Very disappointed! The service was multiple waitresses and very inconsistent. We asked the catch of the day and replayed ohno. Which is O’Ahu. We were thrown off by the slang term used by the waitress. However very familiar with the common name of the fish. We ordered the fish and it was over cooked and dry. The blackened ahi was overly spiced with Cajun seasoning. Blackened is not supposed to be that spicy. Lastly, one of the waitresses on the multiple we had was rude. Shoved a menu in my husband’s face. It was apparent they wanted to turn tables....
Read moreWe decided to try 808 out… maybe not a great idea after Super Bowl Sunday. The food was actually pretty good and that is all I really have to say- the pretzel was actually really one of the best we’ve had. And the French dip was good - the steak was tender and flavorful. My partner did not like the burger tho- he kept saying it was very “wet” and they messed it up with mushrooms which he specifically asked not to have (hives). They were out of most of the beers I was looking to try and the Mai tai was not good. We were not in a mood to complain - it was just one of those days. Rather we just won’t come back. Our waiter was off as well, the person cleaning tables was more friendly and should probably be serving - just saying 🙃
For the money we spent, there are so many other choices. I spent the same at Four Seasons the other night ( for real!) and had the best beer, the best food, and the best service.
Maybe it was...
