Gina's Kapolei — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I have mixed reviews about Gina's in Kapolei. I have ordered takeout three times, and each time, we ordered the same takeout. My first visit was on a weekday, and the food was spot on. I ordered two combo plates of Kalbi / Meat Jun and Kalbi / Barbecue Chicken and a side of Deep fried oyster. The Vegetables were fresh, and My wife and I were delighted with the Kalbi. The oysters were crispy, and we were convinced we had found a great place for Korean Takeout. Our next takeout order was on a Saturday; we ordered everything the same the results were a disappointment because there seemed to be a lack of love in the preparation of our food. The oysters were soggy, and the Kalbi and chicken were tough and dry. What I did notice was the cook was different. Located in the Kapolei Village Center, Gina's offers a wide variety of Korean barbeque plates and also provides catering services for parties and family get togethers.

The combo plates were very reasonably priced and comes with 3 scoops of rice and 4 different sides. Then we picked Korean garlic chicken wings which were nice and crispy, the bulgogi which was okay and the galbi which was thick and seasoned very well. Then they have many different options for side dishes ranging from different kimchees to Mac salad to japchae and your other typical Korean sides.

They pack this plate lunch with so much food that I wonder how they stay in business. If you're looking for Korean barbeque plate to eat out in Kapolei, look no further, this is your spot.

They do have tables to dine in, bathroom for customers and free parking in the plaza parking lot.

I’ve been around the world eating great Korean food but there is nothing like Gina’s. From the moment you walk in you can tell everyone from the young gentleman working the cash register to the cook in the back or the owner the circles around you can tell each person is happy you stopped and ate at Gina’s, you can also taste it in their cooking. They make each meal like it’s in its own league, no mass cooking and heating older food I always have hot fresh cooked food when I come here and it’s amazing. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone that loves Korean or island food.
