Dunkin' — Restaurant in O’Fallon

On any other day, I would probably give this location the full 5 stars. However, on Dec 26th, we were on our way to a family Christmas gathering & wanted to take DD donuts since they do not have a Dunkin where they live. About 2 minutes out from reaching the store, I called to ask if they still had chocolate long johns available, as it was already 2:30pm, and I know they are typically sold out by mid-day. The gal I spoke to said yes, they did. We arrived, went inside, and immediately spotted the very empty spot where the chocolate long johns should've been. This was extremely disappointing - not just because there were several kids really looking forward to their first Dunkin chocolate long john, but because I had JUST CALLED! The front counter area isn't that big - how hard would it have been to physically go look?? Even after asking about them (thinking maybe there was a batch in back or something), there was no apology, no acknowledgment of having given incorrect info on the phone... nothing. Just "we're out of chocolate long johns".

We then decided to grab a couple Happy Hour lattes. I asked for an eggnog latte, but was told that's a signature flavor & is not part of the happy hour special. Again, on any other day, I would've just said "aw, shucks" and picked something else. After having been misled about the long johns inventory, making a "just this once" allowance would have made huge strides for very basic customer service. At that point, I wanted nothing. Not my favorite Dunkin Donuts place. I used to go here because I loved the French vanilla ice coffee. However not long after I started going I kept receiving orders with soggy hash browns. Sandwich's thrown together basically looked literally. I've recieved a dozen donuts stale also and bought early in the morning. I had my vanilla ice coffee made without vanilla after asking for it. The last straw for me was three times in a row different days, was after the second time of getting my ice coffee wrong by the third time I asked I will have a vanilla ice coffee with cream. I received what looked like what I ordered but with a bout 10 packets of dumped sugar granular at the bottom. When I took a drink I got a mouthful. I was done after that. I even went back in and made them fix it and was late for work. I will never go back to this one. With all the positive reviews I really think some where paid to write it. Even the one where I go here everyday and get the same thing and never had a problem. I do not believe that. My experience can not be a fluke. I have gone here random days getting the same things and found all kinds of problems at least...

We were able to place a mobile order that included 3 glazed donuts. When we went to pick up our order, they told us they were sorry but there were no glazed donuts. If they didn’t have any, why did the order get placed? Wouldn’t it have stopped me? I thought that was a pretty standard doughnut so I was shocked that they didn’t have it. It’s not like we were there at 7pm. We were there around 11am.

What shocked me more was we were able to place another mobile order for glazed doughnuts and the same thing happened again. This time though we were given an apology, the hot chocolate in our order and refunded the rest. Thanks Dunkin Donuts for forcing us to go to Krispy Crème where I had to ask them if they had the glazed doughnuts. She looked at me strange (understandably) and said that was surprising. She told us they had just got done making fresh ones. I never thought I’d see the day where Dunkin Donuts disappointed me.
