First my wife, had been going here several times a month for over 6 years. My 12 year old saved his money to take me out to dinner for Father's Day this past Sunday. All of a sudden I break out in hives, turn bright red, and my throat starts swelling. My wife jumps, up and starts asking if any of them had been eating melon or handling raw melons, and not washed their hands because I go into shock immediately. Our server shows my wife a tub of honey dew she was eating in between taking people their orders. My wife starts explain that I have a fatal allergy to melons, and I have to get to the hospital immediately before my throat fully swells shut. The server, and another one start laughing about it, and blowing my wife off. As we were rushing out the door to get to the hospital 4 blocks down the road the stop us, and make my 12 year old pay the $52 bill. We didn't even get halfway through our meal. I ended up spending the majority of Father's Day in the hospital. The next day I went in, and was talking with the what I thought was a manager. I explained to him what happened, how they still made my son pay as we were trying to get to the hospital, and I know have a $200 medical bill because of what happened. I explained that my concern was getting my son's money back because of their unsanitary employee we didn't even get to finish our meal, and it was wrong that we had to spend Father's Day in the emergency room. He told me they were not authorized to give refunds, and I needed to call the owner's wife so she could call, and give them authorization to do a refund. He said he was giving me the owner's wife cell phone because the owner himself doesn't speak English. I called her, and she told me she would give the employees authorization, and would call me back that evening. She never called me back so I called her again the next day. She, and this is her exact words, "I spoke with the employee, and she said she didn't touch your plate with the hand she was eating her melon with so we are not going to refund your money." . You would think owning a restaurant they would know how cross contamination works. I explained that my concern was just getting my son's money back that he worked hard for. She restated her previous statement. I explained to her I have managed restaurants for over a decade, and this is very serious, and she can be reported to the health department. She proceeded to laugh at me when I told her that. I told her that I am now going to pursue further action because this is very serious. She laughed at me more. I said "Ma'am have a nice day. I am contacting the health department, and will be looking into further actions." I immediately called the local health department, and I was informed they're sending a health inspector there for a surprise inspection, and they will be having a meeting with the owner's, and all of their employees. We had been loyal customers for years, and always referred people there....
Read moreThis was my favorite place until a few weeks ago when i went in for lunch. They forgot some of the things I ordered but i didn't make a big deal of it, I had all you can eat and it probably saved me from eating too much anyway. Then the week after that me and my brother went in and ordered and they had the nerve to look at my brothers order slip and say you know if you don't eat this all we will charge you "it clearly says that on the menu". Again no problem because i love this place. My problem is when i take my 13 year old there to eat which is a miracle because he hates eating out in public because he doesn't like people staring at him when he eats. We order our food, me the all you can eat and him just a plate of shrimp fried rice. Our food arrives and we began eating my son reaches over like most kids to their moms and steals a piece of sushi off my plate no big deal right? Wrong instantly the food police rush to my table to enforce the NO sharing food rule. WHAT?? First of all if my child would like to reach over and eat all my food that is our business not yours. Second as long as everything gets eaten that is non of your business. Third as long as i am paying the bill don't worry what is going on at my table. Thanks for letting my child know that people really are staring at him while he eats and making this one of the most uncomfortable lunches I have had in my entire life. My child was so embarrassed that for the remainder of the lunch he ate with his head down avoiding eye contact with me or any other person. My child should never feel bad about sharing anything with his mother especially as unimportant as food. I will never eat here again I will in fact just drive...
Read moreThe food was good and fine. Service was fine. We got the all you can eat sushi for 12.99 at lunch time and we wanted to order two rolls to go. On the outside of the restaurant in a sign and on the menu there’s a sign that specifically says “any two rolls $7.99 dine-in or to go”. It says ANY. And it’s on the all you can eat menu by all the rolls. We ordered the eel roll and American dream roll to go, and said we wanted to do the two rolls for $7.99 to go. But then when the check came, the waitress charged us seperatly per roll and it came out to about $13 for the two. But we said we wanted to do the two rolls for $7.99 which she then, after they were made, informed us that it is any rolls, except those two that we ordered. But NO WHERE on the menu or outside on the sign, does it say that there are any exclusions to this offer. And the employees said it is any rolls except those two. You have to put that stuff in print, in writing, for everyone to see. That’s false advertising and not right! Both employees said that they don’t know why it’s not written anywhere. But it’s wrong. You can’t scam people like that. We don’t care about the extra $5 and paid it still, but it was wrong. That’s not right to do to customers. Any two rolls should mean any, and if it’s excluding something that should be written somewhere in fine print or stated or on a separate menu or something....
