Fantastic!! Fantastic! And fantastic! We went here for brunch on Saturday. It was my first time at this establishment. I was very happy to be greeted at the front desk by a very lovely young lady. She had a wonderful smile on her face, and was very patient with me.
We were initially seated in one area, but my friend wanted to move somewhere else, and she was more than happy to accommodate our needs. Unfortunately, the new table was not yet clean or prepared; therefore, we had to wait approximately 5 minutes for the new table to be cleaned. That was certainly not a problem considering the fact that we were a few minutes early for our reservation. Our initial table was ready, but it was not in the location we wanted. The most important factor is that they were able to move us with no questions asked!
The food was actually good as well! Originally, I had to send my waffle back because it was not cooked properly. The top of the waffle was super hard, while the bottom was wet and soggy. I have no idea how that could have happened, with the exception that perhaps it was covered or sat in one area too long or something. I don't know. And while that is a bit of a negative criticism, the matter was corrected right away! Our server, Andrew, was quick to remove that waffle, return it to the kitchen, and he brought me a brand new fresh waffle! That one was perfect! I also enjoyed the sausage and the bacon, but they were a smidgen overcooked for my taste.
Finally, the men's restroom was absolutely pristine! I could not believe it! It's partially the reason why I gave this restaurant five stars. In general, I don't give five stars to restaurants unless I am able to see the men's restroom. In this case, I needed to clean my hands. You will see from my photos and videos that the men's restroom was immaculate! Therefore, because of the tasty food, the friendliness of all of the staff, including our amazing server Andrew, and the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the restaurant, these people are deserving of a five-star rating!
I am confident I will visit this place again in the future. Thank you all for such a wonderful...
Read moreMy wife and I went here a couple of days ago because she was given a gift card for the place. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. The service was excellent! The waitress brought out a large carafe of coffee, which was appreciated. The wife ordered the brioche French toast with scrambled eggs, but the eggs had small bits of shell in each bite. The waitress took them away and returned with some fresh ones that were slightly over-cooked, but at least they did not have shells in them! I order the Notorious B.N.G. (Biscuits And Gravy) with sausage links and over-easy eggs. The eggs were good and the sausage links were unique and most excellent! However, the biscuits and gravy were both bottom of the barrel. The biscuits tasted as if they were the cheapest of the cheap from a cardboard can and then left under a heat lamp for a couple of hours before serving them. On top of the nasty biscuits were about two tablespoons (not an exaggeration) of very thin sausage gravy...a seriously deficient amount of gravy for 2 medium-sized biscuits and WAY LESS than shown on their website...not even 1/8 of the amount shown in the pic. How thin was it? Well, I could very clearly see the little dimples on top of the biscuit through the gravy. I ended up putting all the gravy on half a biscuit and eating another half-biscuit with jelly. The other biscuit was left on the plate. To top off our disappointing eggs, biscuits, and gravy, we forgot to pay with the gift card and paid with our debit card as we normally would. My wife and I both said we probably wouldn't be back, even with a gift card. You read that correctly! We were so unimpressed that we do not plan on returning for a free meal. I must assume our experience was somewhat unique, as the average rating at the time of this review is 4.7/5. Regarding our visit, I feel I'm being generous with 3/5, but the service, sausage links and French toast each deserve 1 irrevocable star. Maybe I will order the entire card amount in sausage links and be...
Read moreI've been to four of the five Shack locations across the St. Louis region over the past year, and while they all serve quality breakfast and lunch, the O'Fallon location stands apart - and it's all because of Jess, their exceptional bartender and server. I don't write many Google reviews; I reserve them for when I'm genuinely shocked by outstanding service. After four visits over the past 12 months, Jess has earned this recognition. No one smiles bigger, no one bends over backwards more, and I've never encountered someone who cares as much as she does about every single customer.
What truly amazed me was her attention to detail and genuine care. On my second visit, she remembered not only that I drink black coffee, but my entire order—asking, "You want the chicken-fried steak with over-medium eggs and well-done hashbrowns?" I was floored. She treats complete strangers like long-lost friends, and her warmth transforms the entire dining experience. I told my wife, "Now that's customer service. She shouldn't be behind the bar—she should be a manager." While the customer service at the other Shack locations is fine, nothing compares to what Jess brings to the one in O'Fallon.
Beyond Jess's incredible service, I must mention the consistency of the food quality and lightning-fast kitchen. The food is outstanding, and the speed is almost ridiculous - I timed it once and my meal arrived in 4 minutes and 38 seconds, right as I was taking my first sip of coffee. This restaurant would be like all the other Shacks without that special touch, but Jess puts a smile on everyone's face and makes every visit memorable. If you're choosing between Shack locations in the area, O'Fallon is the...
