Taken by COMPLETE surprise! I stopped in at 9:15 at night, mainly because everything else was closed, so I figured I'd just check it out. I wasn't familiar with much of the menu, there was a lot of lamb dishes, etc. I ordered the Chicken Mandi, and just in case I ended up not liking it, I also ordered a Mixed Chicken and Beef Philly Sandwich. The Chicken completely took me by surprise! It was a wonderful 1/4 leg, that was wonderfully baked. The skin was lightly crispy (unbreaded). It was flavored with the most wonderful, bold, and aromatic spice, that filled my car up with a scent that made my mouth water! The chicken quarter came on a bed of delicious and delicately flavored yellow rice (Jasmine?) I did NOT expect such a wonderful tasting dish, of such a high quality to come out of such a small and unassuming place! The Philly was equally as flavorful and a true treat to the tastebuds! The steak and chicken came chopped up into small-ish pieces, and they were both sautƩd on the grill with savory spices. The meat was juicy, and had just a hint of crispiness around the edges from the grill. It came served on a nice, warm, lightly toasted sandwich roll, covered in melted cheese, and chopped onions and peppers, and a nice scoop of hot Chicago giardiniera. I would definitely get either dish again, and as a matter of fact, I plan on it! What a wonderful little hidden gem this place it. Give it a try, you will NOT be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy visit to Mandi Restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment I entered, I was greeted not by a warm welcome but by a door alarm that incessantly blared "Bing bong" in the most irritating manner possible. It was like being trapped in a cartoon nightmare rather than a dining establishment. The service was equally appalling. The staff seemed more interested in gossiping than attending to customers. It took an eternity to get anyone's attention, let alone receive my order. When the food finally arrived, it was lackluster at best ā flavorless and overpriced. As if the dreadful dining experience wasn't enough, things took a dangerous turn in the parking lot. One of their delivery drivers, clearly in a rush, nearly collided with me at the Pick n Save parking lot. Their reckless driving was a blatant disregard for safety, leaving me shaken and questioning their professionalism. In conclusion, Mandi Restaurant is a place to steer clear of. Between the annoying door alarm and their reckless drivers, it's clear that customer satisfaction and safety are not priorities here. Save yourself the frustration and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo words: Chicken Schwarma!
I was craving chicken schwarma and relied on Google to direct me to a decent spot in the Oak Creek area, which led me to MANDI's based on the high star reviews.
These reviews are LEGIT - I was blown away by the quality and deliciousness of the food!
The restaurant is an unassuming, modest, but very clean take-away establishment with tables available as well. I arrived late, about 7:30pm on a week night and was the only patron. The gentleman was kind, friendly, and got right to work behind the scenes preparing the Schwarma and Shakshouka I had ordered. Relaxing music played on the TV overhead as scrumptious smells began pouring out of his little kitchen, his head popping out occasionally to let me know when almost done.
The food was fresh, incredibly delicious and exactly what I had been hoping for and craving.
With friendly owner, clean establishment and fresh ingredients - I will absolutely return and would recommend to anyone craving genuine Halal food in the...
