I can almost guarantee that I’m more experienced in the art of pizza than anyone who posted a review here. As field rep who travels for work I’ve eaten at almost every highly rated pizza restaurant in every major city. From Chicago to NYC I’ve tried them all over the last 20 years. I appreciate all styles: NY, Detroit, Maryland Style, Deep dish, Grandma Slice, Connecticut, Sicilian...I haven’t found a style that turned me off. With all that being said Cuzzo’s is one of the best pizzas I’ve had. Thin buttery crust, high quality ingredients, baked to perfection. This is a family business and the food is crafted with love. People are on here talking about irrelevant facts like problems with Uber. Uber is not reflective of the business. A complaint about a well done gyro. Sir, no one in the history of civilization has ordered a well done gyro, that doesn’t even make sense. Bad nachos? Dude some foods don’t travel well...Common sense bro. Don’t listen to the few poor palate haters. This...
Read moreI ordered a slice of pizza and an order of nachos to be delivered by Uber eats. The pizza was not great really just an average generic sauce and dough. They used dried herbs on top to compensate for lack of flavor in the sauce. I would not order the pizza again but it was not terrible. The nachos... these stale chips and cheese sauce saucers were the most pathetic attempt at nachos I have ever seen. I wanted the cheese sauce and corn chip kind so I order the loaded nachos because they had them. The ground beef or what they claim was ground beef tasted and looked like some type of bargain store dog food. The chips were beyond stale. If there was any beef in those nachos I sure didn’t see or taste it. Absolutely terrible low quality ingredients and meal. I will never order the...
Read moreI recommend the "Panzerotti" which the extraordinarily friendly person working there described to me as a calzone crossed with an empanada. I liked the delicious, flaky crust so much I ordered it three more times during my brief visit in Oak Park. The portion size was large and the price was reasonable. I suggest filing it with the "Cuzzo's special" toppings: sausage, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. Ask them to caramelize the onions as that makes them extra tasty.
Takeout or delivery are the way to go as there is limited seating and the washrooms are not great. If ordering for takeout, you should be aware that it takes time to bake a panzerotti. It is totally worth the wait, though.
P.S. If you see "Joce" there, tell her Ben from...
