Fifty first street is truly my favorite place in all of Oak Park and I am so happy this magical shop is in our community! From the moment I walked through the doors I was impressed with the kind and welcoming owner/artist, Cassie. I was so moved by her story and passion for making art, making it accessible, fun, and for everyone! The first class I took was a parent and child class and I had the most wonderful time with my son. I have since taken workshops, had a birthday celebration for family, participated in one of the stores many collaborations with other small businesses, and I can’t wait to try what else this sweet shop has in store.

I must also mention the gorgeous items for sale, one of a kind art pieces and so many gifts and treasures I have found for myself and for friends. The owner supports other local artists and has very thoughtful items in the store.

Run, don’t walk to Fifty first Street and you will be forever changed, I am grateful to Cassie and this shop for inspiring me to try new art forms and be...

We are definitely new fans of Fifty First Street! My 7yo and I took a wheel throwing class together and had a great time! My son ended up not being a fan of wet clay hands so Cecelia set him up to hand build instead, which he loved, while I got to play on the wheel. She even included him on other tasks around the studio like breaking up old hard clay (who doesn't love smashing things?!) while I was working on my pieces. Cassie was lovely and communicative and super inviting both before and after the class and made us feel welcome. I hope there are more events/classes and we get to spend more time here...

This is my second time coming back to Fifty First Street since we had such a great time the first time around! Cassie, the owner, is incredibly sweet and kind. She provides excellent instructions l, especially for a first timer like myself. I had no idea how much fun it would be to create a bowl or a mug from scratch. The whole process was so enjoyable and use my creations all the time! I highly recommend this pottery class with friends, such a fun...

Cassie has created the most magical, creative oasis at her shop. I love stopping in for unique pieces and the workshops have been so much fun leaving me with great memories and meaningful pieces to enjoy. I have done workshops with friends, another with my mom and even setup one for my whole family (husband, kids ages 4 and 6 and my parents) and everyone has LOVED them. I cannot recommend this spot enough. Cassie has the best energy and is so much fun to be around.
