This place states “authentic Distrito Federal style” tacos, which is most likely a marketing trick for tourists and people who had never been to Mexico/Mexico City. They are trying to be as authentic, but guys, original taco al pastor in Mexico ALWAYS has pine apple. Tacos are served plain meat on tortilla and everyone has to serve additional ingredients from the free standing station, in which I didn’t find any pine apple for my “al pastor”. But it’s not the main point. The main point is why in the world I had to wait 40 minutes to get my food served? It’s taqueria for God sake! 5 tacos and 1 “torta” took them 40 minutes to cook... well in Mexico City this business would go broke in 2 days, originally tacos is something that is supposed to be served fast, and won’t require a customer to get up and go serve the rest of the ingredients from the cart... at the end of the day all my family got bad stomach and couldn’t digest the tacos meat. Not to mention the price that we paid for this. The length of the service and the price tag in this place would fit better to a upper-medium level restaurant, but not to a tiny taqueria like this one. One more disappointment, I don’t know what’s worse - going to an Americanized Tex-mex place and eating tacos with yellow cheese in a hard tortilla or getting this kind of “authentic” experience..
UPD regarding the owners reply Talking about the diversity, it is not necessary to be MEXICAN to know what authentic Mexican cuisine is.. so probably it would be better to claim your place as simply Mexican and remove the “authentic” part.. that’s what most “Mexican” places in the US do trying to meet multicultural gastronomic expectations of their customers.. As for the wait time, no one of your personnel ever informed us that the place was busy and it would take 40 minutes to get the food done. All restaurants have take out service but none is trying to justify its slow service by take out orders and this fact is not supposed to affect those who are dining in. So tip number 2 - you should actually instruct your personnel to inform customers about the wait time in cases when you guys already know it would take long.. The last, but not the least, why even bother yourself saying sorry when you are actually not sorry and you openly write about it? Save your time and tell your customers directly that you DON’T CARE about their opinion, which means you DON’T CARE about the weaknesses of your business. You should be happy to get the truthful opinions even if they are not 5 stars because they simply tell how to make things better (for FREE). People pay huge money to consulting companies to get an idea how to improve their customer service and business operations. But YOU ARE NOT SORRY, which means you don’t care to improve things. Well good luck with that approach. It will take you to nowhere but just being “una taqueria X” where people are served...
Read moreBE AWARE!!! I’m so disappointed!!! I loved this place… I was noticing that they weren’t giving the itemized receipt, mostly just the total. I had multiple orders one of the many times, and asked for the itemized and saw additional charges on all the receipts that I wasn’t made aware of.! 😡😡😡 I always felt the numbers were off but couldn’t pin point what it was. So what I realized was they were charging for ice and for other condiments that were free. They’ve been doing this for so long until I bought it to there attention. They then put up a sign but still didn't put up how much after I made a big fuzz about the situation. Now my boss went to order, I reminded her to make sure to get the itemized receipt. Because I knew how dishonest they Still might be! Disgusted Example My boss bill was $51 and She signed for the 51 dollars , they change it!!! Without her acknowledgment. What they did was , when they go to charge your card they’re adding additional funds to your bill, because they think you are not paying attention to your statement!!! He added an additional $3.00 to the 51. Making it $54 charge! They are doing this to everyone I’m sure! And god knows for how long! They said they’re charging $3 extra for using the credit cards but had no signage anywhere indicating that and didn’t make her aware of it nor me when Ive ordered… That’s stealing!!!! So check your statements and hold on to your receipt and I promise you will find discrepancies!!! Pay in cash!!! DO NOT PAY WITH A...
Read moreMy Mexican wife told me to give this place five stars. The tinga gorditas were absolutely delicious. I had spent most of the day at Orlando VW South, which is a few blocks away, and on the way home, we stopped at Panaderia Y Taqueria Casas for something to eat (take out for when we got home). Some of the gorditas did not make it home! We got into some heavy traffic and decided to dig in (she fed me while we were stopped for traffic). Yum, yummy! The horchata and tamarindo waters were very good, too. She said it was some of the best Mexican food she has had in the area. Aside from nearly every gordita they had on their menu (I don't do innards), we also got a couple of pambazos, which were very good too. If you like Mexican food, and you don't feel like waiting at the Orlando VW South waiting room for half a day, head on over to Panaderia Y Taqueria Casas and get yourself a bite to eat. We are definitely going...
