Been going here for years and surprised I haven't made a review yet. It's been over a year since we last had em, but just went again yesterday now that we live a little closer to them vs. before. Prices went up (like all things have due to the economic situation), but the taste is still 🔥 and absolutely delicious! We just came back from a week-long trip from Mexico last week (Cancun and Bacalar to be specific) and I felt like I didn't stop at enough street side taco places this time around vs. the last time we were in Cancun in 2023. Well, this place helps fill that void since their stuff tastes almost exactly as authentic as if we were in Mexico again! Love the Mariachi music playing from the outside too in the humble seating area as it really caters to the vibe.
All their meat flavors are very well seasoned and really friggin good, but I have shout out their marinated pork specifically. I only really eat pork-anything when I'm outside the house and not as often, but the marinated pork (or al pastor) meat is, in my opinion, is the absolute best flavor on the menu.whether you get it in their tacos, burritos, tortas, or anything else, if you don't eat pork much (or just don't like it), give this protein a chance! It's too friggin good, I'd take out a mortgage to have an infinite amount if it made financial sense to. Id trade-in one of my kidneys like a friggin GameStop to get a lifetime amount if it made any...sense at all to do that! Their marinated pork is that good, holy crap! And the flavor has not changed at all over the last 3 years we've been eating from here!
We love this place and their customer service is always top notch! There's other places in Orlando that consider themselves "el rey" but this business isn't lying about being the kings/queens of what it...

⭐☆☆☆☆ Absolutely awful. As people who lived in a border town for nearly 15 years and truly know what authentic Mexican food tastes like, this was one of the most disgusting meals we've ever had. We were staying near Disney and made the mistake of driving 30 minutes to Tortas El Rey because of all the hype on social media. Big mistake.
Let’s start with the so-called “famous” $1 ground beef tacos. What a joke. Each taco had about one cent's worth of mystery meat—if you can even call it that. The rest was a bland, mushy potato filler. They were gross, plain and simple. We each took one bite and tossed them.
Next, we tried the carne asada tostada. Dry, bland, forgettable. Easily a 2/10, and that's being generous. The meat was chewy and poorly seasoned, with zero depth of flavor.
Then came the worst part: the al pastor taco and tostada. What on earth was that? A greasy, slimy mess of meat-like mush that tasted absolutely nothing like al pastor. It was unidentifiable, unappetizing, and honestly, inedible. We couldn't even finish them.
We were shocked this place has any following at all. If this is what social media is hyping up, people seriously need their taste buds checked. Tortas El Rey is all gimmick, no quality. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food—this ain’t...

We were on vacation and looking for something to eat around 11:00 PM after leaving the amusement parks late. We found Tortas El Rey on Google and decided to give it a try. Big mistake.
My husband ordered a carne asada burrito, but they gave him ground beef instead—and not even decent ground beef. It tasted old, greasy, and just plain gross. He ended up sick all night with diarrhea and stomach issues.
I ordered a Hawaiian torta and it was even worse. The bread was soggy, not toasted at all, and it was drowned in mayonnaise. After just three bites, I had to throw it away.
My stepdaughter tried the rice pudding, and it tasted expired. Just disgusting.
We waited over 30 minutes just to get our food. And when we finally did, it was not even close to authentic Mexican food. Honestly, Taco Bell tastes better—and that’s saying something.
To make matters worse, the area late at night felt really unsafe. There were people clearly under the influence wandering around, and the restaurant is caged in like a chicken coop. I even asked one of the workers if the place was safe—that’s how uneasy it felt.
Bottom line: Don’t waste your time or money. If you’re looking for decent Mexican food or a safe late-night bite, this is NOT the place. Run...
