Food Allergy Warning! We had large group of 8 on an early Sunday morning(7/3/22). We were seated immediately in a back sunroom that faces street and morning sun. They have fans in there which kept it cool. I did not like that another family came in and wanted the garage doors to the room opened when it’s like 100° outside. They came to open the big door by us but not down by the family that requested door opened. We asked for it to not be opened as it would get warm in there. The didn’t open ours but went down to open door by family that requested it which still would make it warm in there. Our server was nice and we ordered food. Here’s the food allergy WARNING: We had a gluten free person and a vegetarian in the group. I, being the vegetarian, ordered a grilled cheese with no bacon on it and to add tomato. Our food comes and I immediately notice bacon piled on it and it’s baked into the cheese. I tell server and she said “sorry….that’s right you ordered no bacon but tomato on it”. She took my plate to get new sandwich while everyone else ate. While waiting for my food server came and told my husband that he had wrong meal…he was suppose to get jalapeños in it. She switched it and gave him new cooked meal. My newly cooked sandwich finally arrives to only find out that it’s NOT A NEW SANDWICH! My son pointed out a little piece of charred bacon and I said no they made me a new sandwich. He tasted the little pebble of meat on there and sure enough it was bacon. I opened my sandwich and you could see were they ripped the bacon out of the melted cheese (you could see grease and indentations where the bacon was), the bread smelled of bacon and they put a tomato on it to cover it up and passing off as new sandwich. This is not good for people with food allergies. Thankfully we noticed before I got sick. I had to eat the fries. I did see someone setting up a table who I asked if she was a manager. She said yes…though there was no name tag or anything saying she was. She apologized, said a new sandwich should of been made and offered new sandwich. I declined because if ripping greasy bacon off of melted cheese was my new sandwich….I can only imagine what another would have on it. I was not offered a discount on just my meal or even a credit for the couple dollar grilled cheese I couldn’t eat. It was my first and last time there. Consider...

Honey-Jam Café; such a lovely spot for any time of day.
First and foremost, what an interesting menu! Beautiful layout with clear-cut imagery, legible print, detailed descriptions, options for customization; the list goes on. So many tantalizing choices presented; it was difficult to choose just a single entreé. I opted for the vegetarian sopes (thoroughly glad I did not allow skepticism to seep in; plant-based "steak" can be hit or miss). Not only was my meal one of the most flavorful, fun dishes I've had over the course of my stay in the suburbs; everything else exceeded the mark in both presentation and taste. For beverage accompaniment, I chose the Vietnamese cold brew. I am sincerely confident in this; Honey-Jam's coffee rivals that of major names such as Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. The taste, richness, and full-bodied flavor of the espresso was truly impressive as well.
On to my favorite topic to ramble on about; aesthetic appeal. What a classy, mod setup, Honey Jam.💎
Trendy minimalist interior design (from light fixtures to decor; everything exceeded the mark, +5 points for atmosphere) juxtapositioned against industrial, innerworking-exposed ceilings (this caught my eye immediately). I am a firm believer in the importance of aesthetic appeal; as environment influences overall atmosphere, correlating to comfort level and heightening satisfaction with the overall experience.
Affordability was on point as well; ample space available for comfy seating (excellent floor plan optimization; enclosed patio area also available for additional seating of larger parties), tidy restrooms with a well-situated double sink and clear signage throughout the site.
Service notably excellent. Such courteous, attentive staff. As this is a facet of the dining experience I hold in high regard, I can confidently say all attendants from door to table solidified Honey-Jam as a must-return in my book.
All this to say, dear readers, I may have (finally) found my new brunch spot.
Thank you for an unforgettable dining experience, Honey-Jam Café. Truly, I do not blame you for the resulting food coma; my decision to overeat was mine alone.

Read moreMy girlfriend and I were really looking forward tk eating here after a follow up doctors appointment for her medical condition that she’s been managing all her life. It can get defeating at times and we were trying to make the most out of the day!
We drove past this spot and it looked really cute, we saw it had great reviews and the food looked awesome so we were excited to try.
After the appointment we excitedly headed over to the restaurant, when we walked in we were met with disapproving eyes at my girlfriends service dog. He’s a mobility assistance dog and has gone through rigorous training to be able to be taken into a number of high engaging environments that a dog needs to be neutral in. It’s also understandable from a business perspective that you have to think about other patrons that might have personal feelings against dogs and being around them and their food.
However, it’s under ADA law that service animals cannot be rejected in place of businesses. They tried to seat us outside on the porch to which my girlfriend asked if we could sit in the booth as she has circulation problems in being in a cold area. As soon as went back inside the manager argued that we couldn’t sit in a booth because of the dog and said it was because of the other patrons eating there. We could tell it was a very uncomfortable moment and they had strong feelings about our service dog. They did let us finally sit at a booth but not before a very uncomfortable altercation of us sticking up for ourselves and the law. By the time we finally settled we just didn’t even feel comfortable to be there and didn’t want to give our business to someone that made us feel a sense of shame in the moment and unwanted.
I’m sure based off other reviews this place is great however I would encourage better training amongst staff for these situations which can and will happen at any capacity in...
