Becky's — Restaurant in Oakland

I rarely ever write reviews, but as a recent transplant in Oakland I feel it would be a disservice to not share the experiences I encounter— unbiased and net new.

That said, the only thing “good” about this establishment is the location. The food was beyond underwhelming… nearly inedible.

I ordered the crab puff and Mongolian 3 combo. The Mongolian dish was terrible. The shrimp tasted like burnt rubber, which overwhelmed the entire taste. It wasn’t presented in a traditional Mongolian entree sauce, don’t expect that. The filling of the crab puffs appeared to taste spoiled.

OH... How my family LOVES Becky's. The best (non-greasy, not so traditional that you don't understand anyone in the restaurant) Chinese food around. I've got everyone in my family and my co-workers hooked!! The prices are GREAT. The staff is extremely friendly, fast and they have NEVER gotten my order wrong in the few years that I have been one of their customers. Across the street from the bart station. Absolutely incredible. Hands down best American-Chinese food I've ever had. Literally every dish my wife and I ordered was the best of that dish I have ever had. From the hot & sour soup I got, the wor wonton soup my wife got, and all the dishes we got because I wanted to try everything just after how good the soup and plum wine was. Highly recommend the house fried rice, beef chow mein, general tsaos chicken, sweet & sour pork, and the honey walnut shrimp. The service is just as incredible as the food.
