Denny's — Restaurant in Oakland

Food is ok and service was good. I have one complaint...they have an error on their menu and they know it. Their error cost me $3.00!! I ordered the chicken tender dinner. The menu said it came with 2 sides and dinner bread. I ordered fries and a garden salad. When I got the bill...the garden salad was added on as an extra. When I questioned it I was told that there is an error on the menu. The garden salad is not a side choice but it is clearly listed under the sides. The waitress said management told them that if anyone complains they will take it off the bill. She said, I can call management if you want me to. Really?? If there is a known problem put a sticker on the menu so that your customer knows. Or if someone orders one side and a garden salad...tell them when they are ordering. It is deceptive to not say anything and then just bill people. That's wrong! I paid it...but I am writing this to alert others since the management is not going to. I got double ripped off. I got one side with the meal instead of 2 and then paid for a salad that I shouldn't have had to pay for. The agreeable people get to pay...but if you are a complainer they will remove it from the bill. Good...

My family of 5 came in on a Friday night about 10pm. This location was quite busy when we arrived and so it took just a bit, maybe 4-5 minutes, to be seated. The server who sat us was very kind and pleasant. She asked if we were okay to sit at a booth with a chair on the end as they were trying to close the back room. We didn’t mind at all as we were just hungry. Our service time was pretty much on point with the understanding that they were in the middle of a rush and clearly understaffed as the manager was in the kitchen cooking. We order and our dinner came out promptly, the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is my prime rib I ordered for my salad came out burnt and the incorrect portion. I showed our server and she went straight to the window and asked for a new order of prime rib and the second order was perfect.

I saw they had numerous flyers for kitchen job postings. I hope they’re able to fill...

Had lunch here with my parents. There were only a few other tables seated during the time we were eating. A lot of the fries that came with my burger were almost burnt, the same with my Dad's side of red potatoes. My Dad requested jalapeno and salsa with his omelette, but we had to remind the waitress twice before they were brought out. My mom said her bacon tasted bland. The worst offender of our visit was the drink cups. The cups were so nasty we all thought they were frosted glasses until I scratched at the inside with my fingernail and found out it was some sort of film left from not being washed properly. My dad requested a new glass with his refill and let the waitress know any the cups. She brought out a to-go cup for his refill, which means she couldn't find a clean cup in the kitchen.
