So let me start off by saying I had really high hopes and expectations for this place because of the reviews and pictures(looked tasty). I had read reviews about the California sigsig burrito, which is what I ordered. No drink or anything else. I saw the total it was $20!!!! I was shocked. But then i said ok, it's probably worth it. I'll still give it a try. When I received my burrito, I was shocked once again at the size. Being that it was $20 I thought it was gonna be a little bit on the bigger side, but it was smaller than a regular burrito from the taco truck. I took the picture to show the size, and keep in mind I have really small hands. It wasn't filled with food. It was thin. Well, after a few bites, I got even more disappointed. Honestly, I didn't taste any distinct flavors as i expected(filipino). It didn't have a lot of meat(pork) it was more French fries. It wasn't horrible but not something i would ever go back for. I would much rather go to a taco truck for that price and flavor. This is the only thing I've ordered so maybe I'll give something else a try. But as far as now I don't recommend anyone getting this burrito. Also, When I asked for some sauce for my burrito that i had just purchased, they told me that they charge for it! But otherwise i could just grab some ketchup if I want... what?!😒 SO...
Read moreI absolutely loved the food. Im a HUGE fan of Filipino AND Mexican. That being said, this unique and tasty fusion is a no-brainer. I come from a city where there are quite a few options when it comes to Filipino cuisine so its nice to see more options becoming available in the greater bay area.
I'm also burdened to share that MOST traditional filipino restaurants I've been to in my life are highly discriminatory towards african Americans and persons of darker complexion...like my husband. This being the case, it is ABSOLUTELY a breath of fresh air to dine at a Filipino restaurant with such a diverse and welcoming staff that made my husband and I feel right at home.
The only reason i didn't give this establishment 5 stars was that i feel like the portions are a bit slim for the price you pay per dish. Traditionally, the cost of one dish at this restaurant would get you 2 lbs of lechon at a traditional Filipino restaurant.
Overall I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant if you like Filipino...
Read moreA Hobbit had told me about this wonderful burrito place in Alameda,Ca. One of the methods in getting to their food item came to be via their food truck. We didn’t realize that there is a physical location in Oakland. We went to their Oakland location to experience their famous Senor Sisig Signature California burritos as well as their Horchata Ube Drink. Their popular menu items Senor Sisig California Burrito and Senor Sisig burritos were what we had ordered. All burritos were either Tocino pork or regular Pork. The speciality item (SS California burrito) had fries and tiny potatoes tots in them. A much bulkier menu item in their arsenal. I ate it all before I could remember to take a foto, this was some food which will fill you up for an entire day. I also recommend getting the Ube Horchata Drink. If you are felling bold, There is also a rum version of their Horchata...
