So my walking friend suggested we walk to Happy Burito & get some food. It was a good walk from our neighborhood & why not? She kept saying “The chicken burrito is bomb.” So I order a carnitas burrito & then I see the tostadas; $4.50 for a plain with meat of your choice. I decided to pick some up for my kids at home and I got 2 chicken & a beef tostada. Honey; let me tell you- I didn’t get 25 feet from the place! I had to sit down and take a bite of that chicken tostada! It started as a taste, but was GONE in a matter of minutes. I have since been back and have ordered a bunch for me, the kids & my next door neighbor! It’s usually 4 ladies (the tias & abuelas) and they don’t play: they take your order, take your card, and a few minutes later- your order is up. You’re on your way with your pink plastic bag of happiness. If you’re expecting fancy, please; just good food at a good price. It’s strictly to go, parking is kinda crazy but it’s worth it. Read moreThis is one of my favorite food places in the world. I've been eating here since I was 16 years old working at summer youth jobs, so Happy Burrito has been keeping me happy for 36 years now. I guess you can say I'm a walking happy burrito. 😆 My favorite meal is the super taco loaded with extra everything. I also like the burritos. The food and quality is always consistent. Julia and William are really great people, they have been taking good care of me for most of my life. Kudos to Happy Burrito, I pray that they always stay in business. Oh, I can't forget to mention the famous salsa. It's simple, spicy, and compliments their food, also always consistent. I must have their salsa...
Read moreI have been going to Happy Burrito for years. It is a nice brisk walk from my current place of employment but very much worth the exercise. Besides I can then justify eating the whole burrito! Today was a Happy Burrito with carne asada. Very good burrito. I am a refried beans afficiando so I really dig their burritos. And for the price, you can beat their burritos anywhere in downtown Oakland. The ladies who run this place have been doing it for quite awhile. I find them charming in a viejita way. Very school vibes with them and their food. I highly recommend if you want an affordable meal in...
