As I have many times in my life, I was in town and Googled the closest Starbucks because anywhere in the country and you need to get online to do some work you can go there to get online, get a good cup a joe and knock it out! When I arrived there were 4 people in the store and me. 5 staff members at 3pm. Monday, 4/18. The music was SO BLARING LOUD everyone in the store was leaning in to talk to the person in front of them. Steady line at the drive thru. Store starts to fill up with ten or more folks in the two hours I worked... The Music BLARING so loud that I could not hear the person I was talking to on my iPhone headphones. 3 separate times I walked up to the counter to request politely for them to please turn the music down a notch or two as it's "crazy loud". Each time I was told "Ok, thank you for letting us know." TWO more times I raised my hand to the tall lightly greying haired 6'2 dude who smiled and gave me a thumbs up and a smile signaling he was on it! I swear I think he turned it up louder. Looking around my corner leather chair, the dirt in in the corners and as I look around the floor is disgusting. Went to the bathroom before I left & it too was nasty - now 6 employees behind the counter and 12 people in the store - it's 4:30pm. As I was leaving two gentlemen had just walked out in front of me and stood on the side walk to talk. I over hear "Man, it's nice to be able to hear each other talk!" I stopped and we discussed. They are local Mgmt from area businesses who met there for a meeting together. One immediately said in response to "Man, I asked the staff to turn it down 5 times!" He replies "They don't care..." Not what you come to expect from one of the biggest brands in the world and supposedly a staff and culture that cares. As a new resident of the area, I'm on the hunt for another coffee venue. Get it together Starbucks! You're profits are soaring and your fans are coming in but you are losing them in...
Read moreI went to this Starbucks last night (12/2/2017) and ordered $18 worth coffee (a bag for home and a venti decaf to drink there). I had to wait for a pour over and was going to read and drink my coffee. However, when they brought me my coffee they said I had to leave because they were closing the store.
It was only 9:30PM but both the web and the store times on their door said 10:00PM was closing time. I told them they should have told me they were closing early BEFORE I made my purchase since the whole point was to have a cup of coffee while reading my book.
This marks a first for me where a restaurant has asked me to leave because they were closing as they brought me my order. The fact they were shutting down 30 minutes early just exacerbates the problem.
When I told them they should have told me they were closing early when I was placing my order because I would not have ordered the cup of coffee they just said "sorry". You'd think at the very least they would have offered to refund it as I was clearly not happy about the situation.
I don't think this is a reflection on Starbucks overall, just the Oakwood location. The one in Gainesville has always been top notch. In addition to this latest event, about every other time I visit Oakwood I have to ask for cream or stirring sticks because they are out.
Moving forward, I'm just going to go to the Gainesville store if...
Read moreHusband Made an order yesterday in person and one of the drinks was wrong. I called in to let a manager know. She offered a refund or a remake and asked when we would be coming in. I told her someday this week. I went in today to get a remake of my order provided my name and husbands name since she said she wrote down both our names. The male who took my order couldn’t find it so asked for my receipt. I told him I didn’t have it, but I scanned my app for points. He said if I made the order online I can show him the receipt. I told him it wasn’t an online order he then tells me next time to save my receipt. I told him the managers name who answered the phone yesterday so can’t they just believe me? So then I told him to call her if he needs some kind of proof. I avoid coming to this Starbucks because the customer service isn’t the best and there’s always something wrong with our orders. But it’s the closest to us and I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt. After today I’m sticking to the Starbucks on...
