What an AWESOME experience we just had at Darrell's Dog Gone Good Diner #11! We were just passing through the area and decided to stop for brunch. With only 2 servers in the building, we were sat fairly quickly, she brought us our menus and drinks quickly too even though I told her to take her time. I could see they were busy and it was only the two of them. I ordered 3 eggs basted with ham and a side of sausage links. The meal came with grits and a biscuit (got a side of sausage gravy with it) which I am bringing home. Most places don't know how to make basted eggs, well this was not like most places. I don't know where they get their eggs from but these were the best eggs I have ever eaten! I used every last piece of meat to scrape the egg up off the plate as to not leave a drop. Eggs were perfect, ham was cooked great and tasted amazing, and oh goodness the link sausage was thick, delicious, and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the Waffle breakfast. She got her eggs over easy and also said they were cooked perfectly and delicious. Her bacon was on point and she said the waffle was one of the best she's ever had. We figured there would be a bit of a wait for the food to come out with how busy they were, and the kitchen staff even apologized if there was a wait on the food, but we thought it came out much quicker than we expected. I don't have one complaint! Everything was so amazing, I made sure to Thank the kitchen and wait staff for the entire experience. I love checking out new small restaurants, it is always where you get the best food and personal service. I will definitely be telling friends and family about this place and will 100% stop here again when driving...
Read moreI am writing this review, with understanding that it was Sunday morning, very close to lunch time. With that being said, it was barely worth the one star. We had a 6 adults and one child, and split the checks. The server seemed to be overwhelmed, and wasn't really on top of the drinks, had to constantly ask for refills. Our orders weren't difficult, everyone ordered breakfast, and nothing wild, just breakfast. I ordered there highly touted Philly cheese steak omelet, per the menu. A few baskets and gravey, and pancakes, a waffle were the other orders, simple breakfast orders. Not sure the kitchen understands the temperature or cooking methods for eggs, none of the eggs were cooked to order, one set were not even sunnyside....RAW! Raw eggs, at a restaurant? Insane. Biscuits with little gravy, and pancakes without butter at the table. My omelet had 3 pieces of meat, a few peppers and onions, and a ton of jalapeños. It was TERRIBLE. I would have complained, but it took FOREVER to get the food, and it was cold. We had a toddler with us, and I knew it was a time bomb ticking for him to remain seated, so I just ate it. Another person at our table complained about her RAW eggs, and her pancakes that were not delivered at time of other plates, that were NEVER delivered to the table. Asked 4 times for butter, never offered refills, had to ask everytime. Just terrible service and the food was not good. I understand that it is a difficult industry, and when your busy, it's even more difficult, but if you can not offer better than that, you won't see my business again. Darrelle is usually a decent place for breakfast, but this time it...
Read moreGranted, it was Sunday, 2 pm and I'm sure they were slammed before we arrived.walk in, no greeting..There were 3 tables seated. The place was TRASHED. 4 servers on, 1 cleaning her section, the other 3 arguing about what the other one should be doing. Younger blonde girl cleaning her section says,"sorry welcome to Darrells, you can sit over there somewhere"...every single table is dirty. We pick the cleanest one.we sit for about 3 minutes, listening to them argue, waiting for someone to bring us a menu..awkward..we decide to leave..I say, "have a good day" to the dark haired server standing near the door doing absolutely nothing, she rudely goes "by-eee".. I didn't want to take the chance that the back of the house was in the same mood as the front of the house...went someplace down the street that was clean, welcoming and the server was really...
