Tijuana Flats — Restaurant in Ocala

My girlfriend ordered online n paid. I got there they said it would just be a few. Ok cool. So I'm chillin waiting. It's been about a half hour. A woman passing (Turns out it's a manager) asks me if I'm picking up? I said yes and told her the name. Now I have been looking at a bag sitting on the shelf for about 20 minutes that no one picked up. Turns out it was mine lol... No big deal. So I asked her my girlfriend said she left a tip can you just make sure it went through with the transaction? She goes to the back comes back out with an extra bag of chips and some salsa. That was nice. I asked her again about the tip for the girls? She said well I'm not really worried about it. I said do you get them? She said yes they do as she pointed to the other girls running around like crazy in the back. So I asked her again if she would please just make sure it went through? She rolled her eyes at me and kind of huffed like it was a major inconvenience to just walk over to the computer and pull up the check lol! She then confirmed that yes there is a tip on there. The reason she was so complacent about it is because she wasn't getting anything out of it! I am sure being a manager at Tijuana flats she pulls in a good chunk a year on salary with bonuses. The people in the back putting it together make minimum wage maybe a few cents over. I always tip on ToGo!!! They need it and they appreciate it! My point is if she really appreciated her staff making sure they were getting that tip wouldn't have been an inconvenience it would have been her pleasure.... This was our first visit to a Tijuana Flats. Definitely one of the most friendly restaurants we have ever visited! We were greeted almost immediately by the manager, and asked if we had been there before. We had ordered in the app, so I explained that we had not, but were picking up an online order. We had it in our hands in a matter of a couple minutes. Excellent service!

The decor in the restaurant is edgy and fun. Bright colors and graffiti images. We found it both welcoming and interesting. As expected, especially during this extra-cautious time, everything was very clean. The table we selected bore a removable sign that stated it was freshly sanitized.

I ordered their limited-time-only Tijuana Queso Crunch Burrito. It's a healthy portion, and very tasty. The garlic-lime sauce is a little strong for my taste (a splash of hot-sauce helped to counter that), and I expected the tortilla strips to add a little more crunch, but it still made for a tasty meal. I also found their tortilla chips and queso to be very satisfying.

Throughout our entire meal, the super-friendly staff was attentive. In fact, we witnessed a customer who had a problem with their order, and it was handled promptly, professionally, and appropriately.

Overall, we were impressed with our first visit to this popular chain. We found the food to be delicious, the crew to be friendly & welcoming, and the atmosphere to be appealing. In short, we will...

I asked Google for the closest Mexican restaurant & this is where it sent me. Everything looked nice & the girl who took my order was very polite. I wanted a burrito & taco combo with rice & beans. This cost me over $20. I was a little surprised by the price but thought, hopefully, it will be worth it. It definitely wasn't. The burrito was ok. Not great...but ok. Could have done without the taco. The rice & beans we're a joke. A half scoop in a tiny plastic container. This would be the size of a sample. But it doesn't matter the size really because they tasted terrible. Not eating them. Throwing them out. Oh, & there was no salsa. They forgot it or did I have to pay extra? Idk To breakdown the bill, the burrito was a little over $10. The rice & beans almost $5. & the taco almost $4. + I got a drink. Do not waste ur money or time. Go to a real authentic Mexican restaurant.
