Bearded Clam — Restaurant in Ocean City

This place was much needed, took a weekend trip with some buddies and decided to do a bar crawl while the wives and kids were home. We ended up coming back to the Beaded Clam after hitting some of the others... for the bartender (I believe it was Chip) and the atmosphere. We hit a bunch of bars and found this to be the most fun. Couldn't help but feeling like home with Eagles things all over. Talked with some of the other staff everyone was great! As a club (Redneck Yacht Club) we always look for venues to make repeats on future trips. This will 100% be a must stop every time we are anywhere close to OCMD. We ended up doing 4 or 5 rounds here and it averaged 35-40 a round with bottled beer and some shots which isn't bad for the placement of the bar. Its super close to the board walk and hotels. Great spot if you want to feel like you're at your local bar with friends. Highly recommend it. They have a great sticker too. Make sure you Tip Chip! ...

The Bearded Clam has a prime spot right next to the boardwalk, so naturally we thought, “Perfect—drinks and food!” Well, turns out the only thing they were serving us was disappointment, because we were told they don’t do food. Fine, whatever—orange crushes it is. And to be fair, the orange crush was solid.

They’ve also got this hilarious photo booth with a boob theme (yes, you read that right). Definitely a conversation starter—probably the most entertaining part of our stop.

But then… enter Grumpy Santa. An older guy with a white beard behind the bar who made it his mission to kill the vibe. We tried to tip him, but only had cards. Asked about Venmo, Cash App, anything modern. His solution? “Go to the ATM.” Like sir, we’re trying to give you money, not apply for a mortgage. He actually argued with our friend over it, which was so ridiculous....

The guy claimed are cards didn't work but I knew my card worked after just using it at a previous place. My gf then gave him her card and he claimed that didn't work either. I asked him if his card machine was broke and he denied it. We left and I went next door at the candy store to try my card and what do you know, my card worked perfectly fine.

I suspected that he didn't want to serve us and he also gave my gf a dirty look. I had an idea that it was due to race but I have no way of proving that. Nonetheless, I will never step foot in that...
