Get Gnarly Skate Shop — Local services in Ocean City

My 13 yr found this shop on our summer of 2023 vaca. The sales lady(blonde hair) was very patient and helpful finding him what he wanted and we purchased 2 trucker hats. Fast forwarded until 3/24 we made and unexpected 2 day trip to OC and just so happen my son got bleach on one of his hats. Stopped by one evening and noticed the shop was closed still for the season. Needless to say my son was 💔. The next day we were up the boards my son noticed their doors were op3n and the same lady was outside from the year before. As we approached she asked if she could help us, I started to explain what had happened when she stopped me and said I remember him and said we r here doing inventory and are not open yet but we can come in and take a look around. Let me tell you I had one happy 13 yr old. He didn't find the same exact hat,but he did find one that he even like better. We ended purchasing it from her as she was able to take a payment via her cell phone and even emailed a receipt. This is by far the best skate shop ever! I’m horrible at names -I’m sorry! but if I recall correctly (Jaime) the lady at the front who greeted my wife, daughter and I was very genuine and personable! I walked into this store 3x in the matter of a couple hours and she gave us the best customer service experience every single time. I am not a typical “skateboarder” and fairly new to the scene but they treated us like family! My wife was so impressed by the shop - she insisted for me to support anyway we can! I wanted a professional opinion on improving my longboard and they nailed it right on. The owner (Tron) was there and both explained everything to me in detail. They never tried to upsell me on things I didn’t need and focused on what I wanted. The amount of knowledge they gave me about my board and what would be best is more than I could ever ask for. We have a few shops back home but nothing can compare!! Whether your a pro or new to the sport I HIGHLY recommend going here for all your needs. Two of the nicest people I've met. Very helpful helping my son pick out a skateboard for the first time. I started in the '80's, riding Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, and Rob Roskopp decks. Now I only ride from the couch playing Skate or THPS.

The board shapes have changed a bit, and it is apparent my son has much different tastes than me, but it was a great experience seeing him interested in something I loved as a young man.

He picked a Get Gnarly brand deck. The board was already assembled and we'll equipped for the price. And it was nice to support this local entrepreneur.

They also have unassembled decks and a full line of wheels, trucks, and bearings. He'll, they even have old skool rib bones if you don't want to tear te your graphics.
