Caruso Pizza — Restaurant in Ocean City

Me: 66 years old...grew up and live here in Ocean City, MD and always patronize the food venues along the boardwalk. I feel it's important. One of my favorites places to go, was Caruso Pizza as their pizza's are delicious. Now that the crowds have decreased a bit here in September, we elderly folks will venture out on a nice evening, such as today, for some pizza. Unfortunately, while ordering, we ran into a snag that this time we were not going to overlook. Four of us went inside, Caruso's Pizza, and grabbed a table while I went to the counter to order two large pizzas and a salad with four cup of water. I was informed by the young gal behind the counter that they will not give me 4 cups of water and that I would have to instead purchase water bottles. I guess Caruso Pizza feels it's better to gouge away customer's money over a cup of water than to keep them returning. I went back to my table and informed them of this uttered greediness Disappointed, we all got up and walked out. Our mission was to eat pizza and patronize one of our local venues. I am happy to report that our mission was accomplished at the Dough Roller...... As my former drill sergeant used to say, "mess around, mess around, you won't be around"....

This place has really gone downhill. The pizza used to be good but during our most recent visit on 8/16/24 the pizza was undercooked and very greasy. I could only eat half a slice before I started to feel nauseous and both of my teenagers got sick 20min after we walked out and had to make a mad dash to find a restroom. The place wasn't that busy when we went in and yet the majority of the open tables were dirty and hadn't been wiped down. As we were getting ready to leave and throw our plates away we saw one of the workers that was handling the food had gloves on but proceeded to repeatedly wipe her face with her gloved hands and not change the gloves. When we placed our order at the counter it the cashier must have been off in LaLa land because she was looking right at us but it took her a good couple of minutes to acknowledge our existence and take our order and it's like she totally forgot we ordered drinks and we had ask if she...

$23 for an Italian hoagie they have a person working the counter who doesn’t have a clue about the sizes. I should have walked away at this point but I decided to order anyway asked what I wanted on my hoagie which was lettuce tomato and oil and vinegar I opened my hoagie to a ton of mayonnaise and the guy who made it argued with me that’s how I ordered it so the counter person put it in wrong and that’s my fault. Than to watch the guy text on his phone and not change his gloves was absolutely disgusting do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here these people need to learn how to treat customers. As he handed me my hoagie he remade he gave me a nasty look…. Wasn’t my fault your counter person doesn’t know how to do her job maybe train instead of arguing with customers… I wondered why is was so dead at lunch time I got my answer by looking at these reviews wish I took the time to read them first could have saved...
