At the price point I was expecting a bit more than what was actually available. $315 a night later & I was not at all impressed. The rooms are just like any other room in a new built hotel...but if u need to eat, forget it...no paper plates or any plates, no silverware of any sort, no paper towels, no napkins just absolutely nothing. The general sheets n blankets on beds is what u get, nothing more for pull out couch or if u happen to be cold no extra blankets. Towels are limited too, 1 per person...good thing I only stayed for 1 night...for people staying longer good luck on getting more towels...seen no housekeeping anywhere (looked for paper plates, silverware & napkins). I was already upset when I checked in, customer service said I was getting a bay front room, I made sure by even asking twice...at the price I was being charged, ok cool...I can get that!! NOPE!! I got an awesome view of the trash dumpsters (which were loud when they ran the compactor), the lazy lizard bar & a bunch of cars. I got a text asking about the cleanliness of the room...room was clean, too clean...& because there's nothing but the bare minimum. I did text back about what I was told I was getting, room wise & I was given a response that they would upgrade my room if they had rooms available, they said they were fully booked...on March 16th....not even 'in season' timing. I lived in ocean city for nearly 10 years. I know ocean city pretty well, what hotels are around, what hotels have in rooms, etc etc etc...my 1st stay here at the Cambria; not a hotel I would suggest ever to anyone for the price point of what u don't get & I won't be staying here again. They're far cheaper hotels for way better offerings. Was totally disappointed. Customer service behind the scenes was good but face to face customer service (if u can find one) not so good. Oh & FYI, u only get 1 parking pass n 1 spot in the lot no matter if u purchase a large room to share with another couple...which also has a vehicle...oh well, only 1 spot!! The other has to fend for itself somewhere on main streets if u can find a spot & then u also have to pay for parking for that spot on the main street. To me, that was a bit BS!! I even offered to purchase another parking pass & was harshly told no, not an option because it's only 1 spot. So good luck on that too!! It's new, but I'd find a different spot to spend ur time otherwise the headaches of this hotel will surely irritate u & ruin the vacay! I didn't leave a review on the restaurant or bar or pool because I didn't experience these things after being told u get charged, literally for everything....straight down to the ice in your cup. I was good on that because I would have flipped & this review would have went further south than it...

First of all, we had booked seven different rooms for three nights spending over $10,000 for a bayfront views in the middle of summer to celebrate the end of life for our grandmother. The first two families (mine and my in-laws) arrived and settled into our rooms. It was hot but thought maybe it was because we just got done carrying everything in. After two hours and it wasn’t cooled down we went to the front desk and they said AC did not work in the rooms. They told us that they were working on the AC so we said we would go out to eat and they implied it should be fixed very soon. Well we got back around 8pm and our two very young kids needed to sleep so we went to our room and it was still 76 degrees at 8:30pm and high humidity in the room since it was over 90 degrees during the day.
We went to the front desk again and they offered a different room that had a view of the parking lot but never mentioned the view was of the parking lot. So the next morning I went to the front desk and asked to be moved to a new bayfront view and the desk said ok but you will need to wait until this afternoon after housekeeping cleans the room people just left. Find ok. We come back around 3pm and they said they gave the room to someone else and there are no more rooms available!!! Then I had to ask for a box fan twice!!!!! We ended up going and buying our own before they could bring us one. So long story short we had to stay in our room for three nights, no AC, had to beg for and buy fans and only got one night comp. We attempted to make our own AC by filling a tote with ice and having the fan low the cold air.
The general manager refused to talk to us or speak to us and had his front desk staff just run us in circles. They should have closed off those rooms so no one could stay in them and then made different accommodations for people and if they didn’t do that then there should have been sufficient compensation and some friendly and sincere customer service. We will never stay here again and...
Read moreStaying at the Cambria Hotel Ocean City - Bayfront was like staying at a prison disguised as a luxury hotel. It was a controlled environment situation. |The rules were strict, which made it difficult to relax.||To begin with, after waiting for their slow elevator and walking to our room, the first thing I noticed was their dirty carpet. Then we get to our room, and major confusion set in we when couldn’t figure out the simple activity of turning on the lights in our room. We figured out that the room key card needed to be inserted into a special keypad and left in that keypad to keep the lights on.||Later that evening we thought we would like to go outside to check the bay as we approached the doors leading to the back outside area where the bay was located, we suddenly heard banshee type screaming coming from the reception desk. It was one of the front desk people screaming at us saying that if we go outside the back, that’s it, we can’t get back in. what?!|She then followed up by saying, you can get back in, but you’ll have to go on this long treacherous hike around to the front of the building to gain access back inside.|As it turned out, it was a short walk back to the front of the hotel.|To make it all worse, after paying a resort fee we were restricted on when one can enjoy the amenities that our resort fees paid for. Breakfast is not free. Not even a cup of coffee|To further add, if one is a smoker, this hotel hates you. There are zero smoking designated areas. |One would think that one could at least sit outside the back of the hotel and have a cigarette in a relaxed environment, but no. The car park at the front of the hotel was the only place one could smoke. |The thing is when I went out to the back of the hotel for breakfast, there were cigarette butts everywhere. So, you could smoke at the back of the hotel after all, as long as you abided by the “no smoking” rule...
