If rating more than 5 stars was possible, Blue Fish definitely earned more than 5 stars. We placed a large online order for takeout last night that my boyfriend went to pick up for us & our 2 young kids. We've been to several different restaurants for sushi over the years, but Blue Fish stands out, and here is why...

ONLINE ORDERING: 5 stars, very easy to navigate, pictures & descriptions, easy to customize individual items including sushi rolls.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5+ stars, very welcoming, happy to assist and provide clarification or to answer any questions.

TAKEOUT ORDER PRESENTATION: 5+ stars, most companies only focus on presentation in the restaurant while take out tends to be sent in the most concurrent way possible NOT BLUE FISH, they obviously take a lot of pride in what they do. Our food was very neatly packaged for transport, VERY EASY to identify which rolls where which, each roll what separated in its own container with the same type of beautiful presentation you would expect if dining in the restaurant. While this may seem unnecessary to some, this extra step really made a difference to us as it streamlined our in home dining experience. And it was absolutely beautiful, really surprised us and added a little something special to our dinner.

TASTE: 5+ stars! Absolutely DELICIOUS! Our sushi was fresh, balanced, and simply put everything you want & more when you order sushi. The cooked items were perfectly cooked, seasoned well, and perfectly balanced between protein, vegetables, and rice. One of the rolls we ordered was the Hawaiian Roll. I want to point this one out because, yes, the fish & vegetables were perfect in the other rolls as well, BUT this roll also has tropical fruit in it. The mango was delicious. It tasted perfectly ripe & juicy, the sauce was delicious, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked & added just the right amount of crunch from the batter.

Overall, it was just an AMAZING experience, one that went way above any reasonable expectation for a takeout order. We received a dine in experience for a takeout order. We will definitely be returning customers.

To the Blue Fish staff last night - Absolutely amazing job!! Thank you for your hard work and for creating such a special experience for all of your customers, even the ones that order takeout. Your pride in your work shows. You have certainly earned our return business for many years to come. Thank you. We can't wait for our next...

The next day for lunch, Kristine decided she wanted some sushi. As luck would have it, this place was right across the street from Bull on the Beach. So we walked over, and immediately had some confusion. Google told us the place opened at 11, which is when we went over. The door told us it opened at 1. We started to try to make some other plans, but then somebody came out and waved us in, letting us know they were, indeed, open.

This place had both a sushi menu and a Chinese menu. We got Beth beef and broccoli, which was actually pretty good. I don't think we got a picture of it. We ordered three rolls and several pieces of nigiri. The nigiri and mega lobster roll were all very good, though I don't actually have a lot to say about them. They were about what you would expect from good sushi. The other two rolls, the Long Island and Alec rolls, if I remember right, I thought were a bit bland. I was a bit let down with those. The Alec roll was apparently thought up by a former chef at the place and incorporated some crab. I was expecting more out of that one. The Long Island had mango in it, which I'm not the biggest mango fan. I knew it could work in sushi, though, thanks to our trip to the Bahamas. All that said, I really didn't even taste the mango, which was disappointing, because I didn't really taste anything else, either. Since I don't have much more to say about these, I'll just give you the pictures below instead of...

Blue Fish is one of the prettiest Japanese restaurants I have been to with the wooden seating, wood trimmed lights overhead, silk cherry blossom trees, light blue sheer curtains. It is a really pretty, inviting restaurant. There is also outside dining. We sat in a two person table and there was a round stool that I could put my purse on which was a really nice touch. This was our second visit; we have been coming every year when we come back to Ocean City. Food is fresh and delicious and the wait staff has been excellent.

The Ahi Tower with tuna and imitation crab meat, avocado, rice, caviar and asparagus was gorgeous and very tasty. Definitely enough to share or perhaps a meal for one. The Super Roll had half tuna and half salmon which was great. I got the Hawaiian Roll. I haven't had cream cheese before with my sushi, and I think I would order it again but ask that it be skipped since it made it difficult to taste the shrimp. It came with a generous sprinkling of coconut. This last visit, I got the shrimp tempura roll which has nice, big shrimp in it. They had a lychee drink which had a delicate fruity flavor and was lovely in the summer.

We look forward to our next visit when we are back in town,. and we wish they were closer to...
